I wonder what it would take to get this guy in Bathurst this season?.........a couple 1st rounders and a couple young players maybe?.........he had an 8 point game today against Halifax with 4 goals and 4 assists..........would be a heck of a 1st line winger alongside Perreault.

I don't think that would be a wise move for the Titan. I was just reading The Hockey News and they're saying Sheppard is going to be given every opportunity to stick with Minnesota this year. Let's hope he does.

You wouldn't send 2 players and 2 picks without knowing if he is coming back or not.....or you could do it now and send the players and picks at Christmas time for a late round pick or something just to get around any league rules that might stop it.

Those couple of 1st rounders and young players could get you a top-four defenseman and a good forward. I'd rather that than spend all my "money" on one player only.

Nobody in their right mind would give up anything substantial for him now. If he's there at Christmas, CB will have lots of presents under the tree. He won't be cheap.

He won't be cheap. it would be conditional.......send something for his rights now, and if he comes back send more at Christmas............I wouldn't expect them to send 2 playes and picks there for nothing...........and we all know it is very easy to get around the leagues "conditional" rule......

You could still potentially need a goaltender, and potentially a replacement for Bartos. It'll be interesting to see Bathursts moves as an outsider, because Bathurst has had a couple poor drafts, and I'm not sure how marketable the young prospects are. A guy like Critchlow, a lot of teams had rated in the 3rd round. If multiple teams are interested in players Bathurst has targeted, the Titan may not be able to compete in negotiations. Especially if Tardif grabs the #1 job, because he's probably the best asset to aquire impact type guys.

How many teams so far have drafted 1 first rounder, 3 of 3rd round and 1 of 5th round and 3 of them could potentially make the team? The Titan have Critchlow, Bernier,Jean-Boulianne and Blanchard still in the lineup plus Lambke and Couture who are 6th and 10th rounders, plus they have Tanel who was a FA. In 2006, the Titan drafted in the 1st round Tardif, in the 2nd round Morneau, in the 5th round Hunchberger who chose NCAA and in the 6th round Renaud who is a regular with the team, and Faille....Grenache, a 9th rounder , is also playing on the team. In 2005, the Titan drafted Perreault,Joly, Gougeon, Pomerleau who are still all in the Q. I bet you will not find a much better record anywhere of actual drafted players who are regulars in the Q....they hit over 50% in these 3 years.

That would be a smart move..trading away a 17 year old starting goalie (if he wins the job) to upgrade other positions. He is the best goalie we drafted since Russo, I don't think he will/should be moved in the next few years.

First off, the Titan got 2 first round picks for 2008 which is supposed to be a deep draft, its own and BC's..... From there we could also throw in some good players like Blanchard, Grenache or Faille or even Champion. The Titan has just as many assets as any other team.

All of this talk is moot. James Sheppard will not wear a Titan uniform ever. And if he does, the Titan would have to pay such an exorbient price that they'd be stupid to pay it. Besides, when has one player won a team a Q league championship? The Titan need to add more than just Sheppard to make them a true contender for a league title.

Which 2 poor drafts? 2006 was a great draft for the Titan. 6 players from that draft are playing this year. The year before maybe, but the team got Perreault, Joly and Pomerleau in that so it wasn't that bad. 2007 won't have much of an impact for any team as the kids are all rookies.

Here we have Murph calling them bad drafts and you are here saying they were among the best drafts in the league ..... and I think the answer is half way between you two.
