After seeing the second game, here is a couple of thoughts. Mclelland-Quite rusty out there, not impressive Brenton-Same guy as last year, fast, fast and fast but still cannot finish play. McAusland-I'll be very interested in seeing how he does against the vets cause he looks awesome, especially his goal tonight Bolduc-its either him or Babiak if it were up to me Babiak-see Bolduc Barbario-ever since the end of last year I've been thinking he may end up better than Bourdon (that may cause a stir) Dimitruk-again, please stay Sill-Awesome Gomes-solid, nothin special but worth keeping in the situation we're in Herr-I think they may keep him around for an exhibition game or 2 to see him drop 'em. Don't confuse this with him making the team though Brown-still not impressive, I can't see him making it at 16 I agree with Mik as once some of them are up against the vets, things may change. I can think of at least three times tonight when Mclellan went into the corners, battled for the puck and either gained control or got it to a teammate/safe zone. He also sent a shot off the post past Dupuis in the third. He wasn't as good as, say, last year's playoffs, but unimpressive is not the word I'd use.

So whats the plan here? Do they cut to half then combine? That could be easier. Do they cut everyone but who they intend to keep? I would like to see many of those guys with the vets to compare. Most of them have been brought here for a reason and they all do some things well. It would be good to keep them around long enough to see whos most complete and coachable.

Maybe your right, I just expected him to do much better than that. I guess ringing one off the post sums it up, just a little off and like I said "rusty". This guy was one of my favorites last year so I hoping for a little dominating performance against some of the rookies.

What I'm saying is he doesn't look like he is as sharp as he was last year, usually this is due to not being on the ice for wawhile. Get it yet?

To anyone who was there this morning: Who was #7 in white?
It was interesting to watch 3 on 3 this morning, it kind of gives you perspective on who has endurance and individual skills.

Overheard a conversation between Danny Flynn and Pier-Luc Brousseau's father. It appears that Brousseau will advance onto the main camp, and play in the red/white game (?), and play in the exhibition game vs Bathurst.

No suprise there.Politics are almost just as bad in the Q as they are in PeeWee.

It doesn't cost the team anything to keep him around longer ... while kids from out of town are a financial burden on the team and should only stay around long enough to make a decision on them. They will keep a few kids that they know will not make the team ... but they need bodies to run a few more intra-squad games with the vets mixed in.

I somewaht agree, but is $$ really an object with a team that probably spent about 250 000 to their 1st rnd pick? Then again you have to save somewhere

Nope ... but one player more or less for the first few days of full camp won't make any difference in the grand scheme of things - I am sure that no player who is a serious contender for a spot will be sent packing so that Brousseau can hang around. I am not going to lose any sleep over it...

Don't get me wrong,I won't lose any sleep either.I just think it's plain out stupid(unless he actually has a chance of making it)to dress him for an exhibition game when we only play what 5 of them.Basically your sitting somebody to make room for him in that case.As far as the red/white game I really couldn't care less who dresses.

That's my concern too, the exhibition games. I don't care about practices and intra squad he can play all he wants but to take away 15-20 minutes of ice time from another defenseman because he's someone special's son is DAMN stupid.

Even the exhibition game doesn't bother me ... so one fewer vet dresses on defense in our first exhibition game ... maybe it saves a guy like Barberio from playing and maybe getting hurt ...
