canucklehead there sounds like a typical saint john high graduate. one: it was clearly a late hit. two: bezak did NOT have the puck. three: does flattening a EURO make thomas feel like a big man? that's like destroying a kicker in football. very unimpressive! four: the way Bezak's helmet flew off, there obviously had to be contact with his head. and five: i don't give a damn if thomas is suspended or not. he's a dirty player and whether it's now or later, he will see a suspension or two this season. I'm sure that when a player lines up someone else for a hit and then notices it's a european before leaning in, he says "Oh wait, this guy is european, I better not hit him cause that would just be unfair".

What's the difference between flattening a Euro and flattening a player from North America, Euro's are just a player on the ice like anyone else.
I just finished watching the video and I am not sure if it's because it's in slow motion, but the hit did look a bit late. I thought that the Sea Dogs player started to turn into him a fair ways away. He may not have realized that the Wildcats player didn't have the puck, but I thought it looked a bit late.

Actually I'm not a Saint john graduate not sure what that's suppose to mean I assume you believe something is wrong with graduating from SJ? I couldn't care less your going to see things how you want to it wasn't like he waited 5 -10 seconds after the drop pass it was literally 2 seconds in real time after the pass. His helmet came off so easy because it likely wasn't on tight same thing as the guy Grant hit it wasn't an explosive hit but his lid still popped off it doesn't mean Grant's was a head shot. It doesn't have to be the shoulder that hit his head if they are not on the correct way. What does it matter that he's a Euro player not sure where that's going either your putting down your own player? i think i was giving you too much credit there, canucklehead. you're obviously a simonds graduate

He did deserve his 2 and 5 for the blood the ref his arm up right away and he was right there I'm just saying I don't think it was a cheap shot the game happens at such a fast pace these things do happen at times and they are very unfortunate.

Im going to clear this up once and for all. The official rule is if you are within a sticks length you can finish the check. Thomas was like 2 or 3 sticks away. Dirty hit.

Why did he deserve any penalty at all?? The hit was prefectly fine and not late at all. 10 years ago there would not have been a penalty but now you seem to get a penalty for hitting too hard. There was no elbow,no head shot and the blood resulted from the kids helmet popping off. What was the major called, charging? I would be saying the same thing if Thomas was the one laying on the ice. I hope the kid recovers soon and is not seriously hurt. What I would be more concerned about was that not one Wildcat player grabbed Thomas and beat the holey living hell out of him, sending a message or going after one of Saint John's skilled players.

I was sitting pretty close to all the Moncton fans ...and none of them who WERE there seemed to take exception to the hit at the time..... not one from what I recall...They were concerned but nobody was calling for Thomas' head ...seems to me if it was such a "DIRTY' hit something would have been said by THEM at the time... just a thought!!

No one went after Thomas after the hit. shows it wasnt dirty or moncton playes are wimps. Phil Mangan did skate over towards thomas. problem was there was about 3 other sea dogs there too, plus Mangan's not a fighter. for that matter, there were no Wildcats enforcers on the ice at the time. as for going after a sea dogs "star" afterwards, the only one worth taking out is didomenico and you hafta be crafty to get him. he always seems to be able to dodge hits.
