If the cats send it to the league theirs is a suspension coming. Are there certain rules regarding video footage for the league.. I think it needs to be somewhat Official, like the actual sea dogs web cast crew doing the game.. or can they just take whatever footage they find on you tube and make a decision.. I think all the league can go by is the refs opinion on this call anyways thats my opinion on it anyways due to the video being done by an amateur in myself.

Every game is videotaped and not by the same cameras as the webcast. Those tapes are sent to the league and are used for review of discipline cases.

Well I didn't send my to the league through, or does someone just pull it off you tube and send it in when a certain incident arises I think the call on the hit was right 5 + GM no suspension should be issued. I have seen worst hits and players only getting 2 minute minors.

This is something echoed around for the past 2 years. It is a shame that our rookies and smaller skilled players have to deal with this b/s. What you say is 100% correct and you will probably get some heat from other posters on this board who say there is no room for that type of player on the cats. Its pretty bad when a 16 yr old is challenged by a 19 year old and nobody steps in or a message is not sent that this will not be allowed, or when a smaller player does try to stand up for someone and gets the crap beat out of him and everyone cheers and says look , he stood up for a fellow player. Imo this has to be addressed before someone is hurt seriously. That's why they have guys like Lamoureux Lessard Brannon Sill, those guys have to set the tone physically and stand up for teammates. Sill is unproven and has probably never fought in his life. Lamoureux by the sounds of things for some stupid reason probably won't make the team Brannon isn't a fighter,he throws heavy hits which could create even more of a need for a fighter. He can stand up for himself but won't intimidate anybody. Same goes for Lessard.

Lamoureux can do the enforcers job and the others can stand up and defend teammates. Sill fought in Jr.A he's played a full year and part of another in Truro. He had 68 PIMs in 48 games at 17.

There are not many Q players that intimidate anybody, I can't think of one off the top of my head with Cormier gone. This is just the first of many big hit by Thomas this season. He's developed into a monstor. He nearly killed three different FA's in scrimmages. There will be no suspension because the injury was caused mostly by the Moncton player turning his head back. You have to be prepared for contact in this league. Welcome to Canada eh! And Thomas was not skating hard. He coasted the last 10ft or more.

According to the T&T this morning, his injury is nothing serious and he isn't expected any time.

Dont know a link for the official rule but i have a few buddies who are Q refs. Asked one of them. The code they use is that the player must iniatiate intent to hit and be within one stick length. Thomas iniated a hit but was not within one stick length.
