Good post.... but I question how much of an impact McAusland really will have this year. Anything you get from a 16YO, save Sidney Crosby, should be considered gravy. I have a hunch MacAusland will end up with 30-40 points .... not predicting he is a superstar this year ... but I think he will contribute. How will he get 40 pts playing on the 4th line? Im a big MacAusland fan but unless he gets top 2 line icetime theres no way he gets more than 20.

Why isn't this thread on the main page? Does it matter where it is posted? Notes -> This is Smiley the poster not a moderator. My thoughts are equal and meaningless as everyone elses.

One thing is for sure, Flynn can use the depth to whip guys...right now MacAusland and Brown are #13 and 14 on the depth chart and both are advanced 16 year olds(guys that were top players in MAAA, not projects, should adapt retty quick), guys like Eagles Labelle Cameron Lessard Brannon MacLellan Brenton Bezak Sill will have to show up each night so they don't end up in the press box in favor of Brown or MacAusland. On defense, they lack the star power of last year, but 1-6 the defense is filled with solid guys, Pianosi Barberio Eastman Gomes Baca Wilson. Riopel(18) and Lavigne could be better than Sniderman and Riopel(17) I wouldn't count too much on Riopel this year...he's proven nothing so far.

This isnt the NHL...being proven/unproven can change in 3 weeks in the Q. You can go from rookie to veteran in 1 year...Rio should be a fine Q goalie..perhaps not elite but if he was in my crease on opening night id feel secure.

Why isn't this thread on the main page? what I don't get is how quickly this thread got turned into a Moncton thread by a AB poster and then the fire got fanned by Moncton and other AB posters. the thread is legit under the AB board but I wish more comments where made about le titan and their showing in the predictions, the PEI board seams to have done this effectively anyway just my opinion also yes I do think that Hodge is a homer, If I remember well in the Acadie Nouvelle both of the journalists made their predictions last year with both having different arguments Hodge is sooo much of a homer that when he writes something negative about the team...the whole Wc's board goes mad with Hodge bashing ;D

For what it's worth, I agree with jimmy- I too think MacAusland will contribute with 30-40 points this year. He could also see time on as high as the second line in the event of a couple of injuries.

I don't think he is going to start on the second line, but wouldn't be shocked to see him get some time on the second PP unit even early on ... as the season progresses and opportunities inevitably arise through injuries and possibly trades, he may wind up on the second line in the second half. Forty points is the absolute ceiling IMO, somewhere in the low 30's is what I would bet on ... but you are right, if his icetime is limited to fourth line/healthy scratch, then these numbers go out the window.

There is a lot of wishful thinking in your post assuming that 16 and 17 YOs will replace Welton,MacDonald,Gaudet,Lincourt and Co. Brannon, Bezak, Sill and MacAusland are all rookies at this level and will be making an impact in 08-09 and the same goes for Pianosi and barberio, I don't say that they are not good, but not enough impact to finish in the first 4 teams in the Division. The 3 Ls are not impact players and Eagles is no better than any of our 2nd liners here. The real impact players are Mangan,Marquardt and Riopel. ....Very immature blue line...... They picked up some FA 19YO dmen. Gomes and Eastman who look more than half decent. Not to omit Bacca IMO is ahead of these 2 guys!

I will admit that Baca will be a nice physical guy if he can stay healthy but he is not gonna be able to go around and play the body without retaliation and this is where it will be interesting to see his reactions. Having played somewhere else does not always translate in the Q and its gruelling schedule.....this is a very inexperienced defense corps.

Doubtful as he only saw action in intersquad games due to a groin injury ... so your comment is rather uninformed, is it not?

There are tons of examples of Jr.A free agents stepping in and doing a very good job in the Q. What is going to happen to Baca if he plays physical, somebody will get out a gun and shoot him? You have a strange way of using ridiculous stuff to knock players on other teams that you'd never use on your own.
