The Cats once again travel to Sydney, Nova Scotia to take on the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles.. ( what is this, like the 4th time this month? ) The Cats are coming off a 4-3 shootout loss at home against the Saint John SeaDogs on Wednesday night. The Cats had a 3-0 lead going into the third and they ended up losing in a shootout. Cape Breton is coming off a 7-3 loss in Gatineau on Sunday, but they host the Val d'Or Foreurs tonight.
Should see Riopel back in nets. I'm hoping for a close game.. and hopefully a win.. we're due. 5-4 Cats.
On another note.. I was reading a while back that this game was on Rogers.. or was tentative.. anyone know if it's on or not? I looked in my listings and it's saying there is Ringuette on tomorrow night.

After the fiasco on Wednesday, at least the third period, I am left wondering which team will show up. The team that played the first two periods, or the 'pick-up' hockey team that played the third. Given our past record in Sydney, even with Rio in nets, I don't have a good feeling about this one. 5-2 Cape Breton.

Very very bad call by the referee on Sill. It was obviously coincidental contact at the blue line, Slaney simply ended up falling while Sill stayed up.
This could cost the game...
*****EDIT***** What work by Matt Eagles without a stick killing that penalty!

what a save to keep it tied in OT by Roy.....that kid is really something to see.
*edit* Lets see what He's got for the shootout....that was a wild overtime period with the two penaltys called.

Come on, you know the Eagles will want to make up for the thumping they took. Our guys are still not playing up to the level everyone wants them to be at and the Eagles, so far, are doing better than expected. This should make for an interesting game. Unfortunately, and I don't like saying this, but the eagles should be winning this round. 3-1 Eagles. Guys, come out flying and prove me wrong.

And then Lavigne dropped his stick for a few seconds as well....until Eagles hanged it back to him. I thought it was over once Eagles' stick was gone.

Great win in Cape Breton tonight. Guys didn't quit after being down 3-1. The Cats were not in the game for the first part of the game. Amazing kill in OT.. the game should have been over there. Lavigne played very well. Flynn was changing the lines up a lot tonight. I thought there were a calls that were out in left field.. the one on Sill in OT was a joke.. but the other one was one where Lessard hit Piscacek ( sp? ) from behind and the Cape Breton player gets a diving penalty. Lavigne makes me nervous in shootouts, but it seems he is very successful with pokechecking, so that I like. Good to see Brannon win the game against his former team.
