The Q released its Attendance figures today and we are 6th so far . We are behind Quebec, Halifax, Rimouski, Chicoutimi, and Moncton, and up about 300 fans a game on St. John's. 3600 fans a game is pathetic for an area this size. Where are all the fans?

Lazy ass cheap ass Saint Johners. We should cut a sponsorship deal with Bell Aliant. That would kill Rogers covering our home games on TV, and kill Telus webcasts of the same. Then people would have to go to the rink to watch.

I really think the games should not be televised UNLESS it's a sell-out, then it's a great idea to televise. Otherwise, televise a select few games. Anyhow, getting tired of the attendance complaints, you're preaching to the choir here.

Agree with Berner -- televised if its a sell out...otherwise black it out in Saint John and show it to the rest of NB... I know i was going pretty crazy in my apartment during the game...but then again im an hour up the road (but not for long )

Pros and cons reguarding your free Telus game feeds.I guess the QMJHL figures the way to get new fans is follow the league on the net for no charge and hopefully that new fan will go to games. In the OHL they net their games also but it is not free you pay for each game you watch or you can pay by the month or year. This Christmas break they tried 2 days of no charge on the net.I have heard that they are thinking of doing the same as the QMJHL free games but first they have to find a sponsor.Maybe the Q should think of showing just away games only of teams ( lets say for example Saint John show all away games free on net but donot show home games .This may help your attendence for home games as this is the only way you could watch it.If you end up showing the home games on the net charge the party that wants to watch it. This is just a suggestion to possibly getting bigger home attendance

Why would they want to take away the number one vehicle of promotion for their team? The more the team is on TV the better. Look at the Chicago Blackhawks. Now that Bill is dead more games are going on TV and it's paying off. When the Leafs were here all of the games were televised, and it certainly never hurt attendance as St. John's had an overall attendance percentage of 82 percent.

Go get drunk so you smarten up or better yet let your girlfriend type for you. ;D Nobody is rushing out to buy a TV, or ordering cable, just because they want to watch Sea Dogs games from home. These people already have TVs and cable, and would have both regardless of whether or not the Sea Dogs even existed. Point is there are people out there that like hockey and would go to games, be it on a regular or casual basis, but when they find out they can sit home and watch for free, they stay home. The TV thing doesn't solve our attendance issues anyway as it's only our Friday home games that get televised and we've been drawing terribly at times for all the other days. When playoffs come I have no doubt the attendance will jump. What we really need to help attendance for next year is to win a round or two in the playoffs this year. Give these "playoff fans" some intense hockey with some wins tossed in there. That will lead to more season tickets for next year I believe, and more "casual fans" attending next year as well.

See you on the bus Esmeralda What you not going to another home game this year or something? Staying home from now on to watch the games on your TV, pocketed from the upscale north end? ;D

I think the first year that the Titan were in Bathurst during the playoffs, the radio would put the game on the second it was a sell out. That way LGM didn't lose any money. ( God forbid)

I think we're building a good fan base now..it could be better, but 3500-4000 isn,t really that bad of an average for a new team. Give it a couple of years to grow and we'll have the 5K average attendance and a few sellouts here and there, but it will take time....we need to make a playoff run this year and the fans will be there next year when this team is expected to do something....I agree that having games on TV doesn't help sell tickets, but some people will see a game on the tube and maybe go to a live game or see that the product is pretty good and give it a chance. We lost a few fans who supported the AHL by losing so badly at home in the first couple of years but we all know that when the team is a winner that people will pay to see them play "bandwagon" or not that is how it is everywhere.....as far as the webcast goes I think thats a good thing to have, but keep it simple no fancy replays or anything just the raw game...half the time I don't even use the sound on the road games.

We should cut a sponsorship deal with Bell Aliant. That would kill Rogers covering our home games on TV, and kill Telus webcasts of the same. Then people would have to go to the rink to watch. TV maybe. But not many people have the rationale that "Why go to the game when I could watch it on a 14-inch computer screen?" I don't think a webcast cuts into the home attendance much, if at all. You want to nuke radio, too, Leask? That'd really make the fans have to get down to Harbour Station? ;D
