but if they don't stop people from going to their seats during play, or even try to for that matter, they are still being negligent.

The ushers do try. It's the people that won't listen. Nothing they can do about ignorant fans.
IMO, the ushering has gotten better this year...but even with better ushering you still can't stop the fans from doing this. What's an usher supposed to do...grab someone from going down the stairs?? Won't happen..that's security's job, and again..not going to hire 30 security guards.

Another thought...and this one has been submitted to the office to think about...
Alot of the older fans have expressed their displeasure about how "Fanatical" some of the kids get during the games....some even out of control, I've witnessed it...it does happen. The sugesstion was that since sections 6, 7, 8, 9 & 10 were empty at most games, why not create an Irving Fanatic Section? The winner for the Fanatic of the game would be chosen from the fans up in those sections. Maybe an expanded horn section could happen in those sections?? Even if the kids wouldn't be buying tickets up there, they could still go up there and fill those sections.
Thoughts??

Good idea, although why is it always the people making noise that have to move to the shit sections? Is it not a hockey rink? Do they not encourage people all game long to stand up and cheer their Sea Dogs? Do the players not enjoy hearing home fans cheering for them? What makes these old fucks and radio listeners and wannabe-librarians so special that other people have to move and sit in shit seats for them? I say make the lower bowl sections on the side of the rink with the benches, especially the sections behind the home bench, the Irving Fanatics Sections. Then our players can hear us cheering them on, and we can drive the visiting team nuts. The old people and those that want quiet should be happy in the "Seniors Silent Snoozing Sections" (your suggested 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 sections) because they are mostly empty to beginwith, so they'll have a nice quiet private setting to watch their game in. Flame away old bastards! Just don't fill your Depends or take a H.A. doing so! p.s. Hi Paul. ;D

This issue was brought up at the council meeting on Wednesday night. The issue is "Darren", that almost 100% of the seniors are season ticket holders, and with issues about attendance, would you really want to drive them away? We need as many people as we can get! We have to strike a balance somewhere don't we? Would you want a 10 year old sitting in front of you standing up all night screaming at the top of their lungs?? I know I probably wouldn't...it would get somewhat annoying (I must be getting old). For the amount of adult fans who really care about being picked as fanatic of the game, I think those sections 6-10 would be perfect for it. Might even stop the going up and down the stairs by the kids....

I agree with Leask. Seniors in the upper bowl. And no horseshoe at that!!! Next season the horseshoe section will be priced the same as lowerbowl tickets. So a green section and a blue section.

what about the going up and down the stairs by adults? because ANY of the ushers could stop a kid. season ticket holder likely don't mean a heck of a lot of revenue to the team. sure its nice to have committed fans, but you are paying less per game, which in any kind of gate splitting scenario means less for the Dogs (since HS will ALWAYS get first dibs). Some people over value season ticket holders, since families that go to games and buy concessions can easily eat up the difference between them and a season ticket holder (profit-wise)

I know DC. I was semi-joking, other than I bet nobody ever considered even making a semi-decent section into a noise section, because that is not how these people think. I'm a season ticket holder. I'd love to be in a horn/noise section, but not if I have to look through a screen to do so. Can we get even one decent section for it? Hell no. It's always ban that shit outright, or stick it off at the end/corner somewhere that nobody wants to be.
It is a very discriminatory policy, in my personal opinion. It's like saying "You guys are less than ideal fans, but since we can't fill the place with ideal fans and we want your money, you guys can sit here in these seats we can't sell to anyone else". Oh gee thanks. Goes right along with my seats at the back of the bus.

In Bathurst we have a "Superfan section" filled with little kids who play Timbit hockey. In between the second and third period they play a mini game of hockey on the ice. That section is always full. Not sure where they get the kids but they are usually yelling.
The only time I ever heard somebody complain about noise in the KC was when somebody has an air horn and seems to point it in the back of peoples heads or set it off at the dumbest times.

Also we have a Super fan of the game. What ever one of the kids makes the most noise during the game gets their picture taken with Super fan and gets put on the Titan website. The also get a t-shirt.

It's not bad seats either as the section is almost on the goal line.
