How was he in our camp? was he the goalie that did the worst . I think I remember him being terrible. Got his first Start tonight. not doing too bad.

Awesome job.
He was brutal in our camp. He looked real nervous and tight. I think everyone agrees, including him, that we didn't see the real hockey player. The experience must have been good for him.

I was down at every scrimmage and I thought he performed quite well as I have mentioned in previous posts. He served our provincial programs well and I am not surprised at all by this. He was in no way good enough to knock of a high paid player like Mayer but he could have been Passingham for sure. He could have played regularly with his local team and get called up for games as required. Passingham gave up an entire year for a couple of starts and chances are he will not be here next year.

uh huh...and where is this information coming from? because it is the exact opposite of both what beaulieu has been saying and logic

I have to agree with you, Passingham aren't going no where. The kid is only 16 and he is 6 foot 3. All he needs to do is work on his rebound control, and he should be our back up next year. Here is question what happen to Dupol. Wasn't he the top goaltender in Quebec midget last year?

he went CJHL. He came in and played like crap when all he had to do was perform at a similar level to Fullerton to make the Dogs seriously consider running with him and Mayer.

If not Passingham, then who? With Passingham we are getting a backup who has been facing major junior calibre shots all season long, and (although a limited) Q career. I can see Passingham getting a few starts down the road aswell..maybe against Drummondville in February.

If we are serious about the big push for next year Passingham can't be the guy to backup Mayer. I doubt highly a few more starts is gonna get him to where he needs to be by next year and then have the summer off too.
Rebound control is not as easy to learn as you might think I seen him make gloves saves and not be able to control the rebounds. I hate to sound like I'm bashing a young kid an all but this kid isn't ready to play 20 or so games on a team that truly expects to win next year. The odd game against a team like Drummondville won't do alot for him either cuz he'll likely face less then 20 shots.

Once again, I ask..if not Passingham, then who?
I don't think JB will trade off any future assets to get a backup..we need those to rebuild after our "go for it year".
So, you would rather go with an even younger guy than Passingham?

I think Halifax has a decent backup in Mark Yetman I don't think we'd have to spend alot to acquire a similar goaltender like François Lévesque from the Sags will be 19 just an example I'm not suggesting he's the one guy we need but we're gonna need a better backup then Passy he's more then a year away from being ready IMO.

Chilly you have a ton more confidence in Passy then I do that's all rebound control is not easy to learn I'll be pretty impressed if he can figure it out by next year he doesn't have alot of time to learn hope he works on it during the off season too.
His biggest advantage is that he's young and he's a big kid so he does cover alot of the net but I don't see him getting in to many more games this year.
