The Sea Dogs’ next home game is scheduled to take place tonight, and will see Saint John face the Acadie-Bathurst Titan at Harbour Station. In five games played against Acadie-Bathurst this season, Chris DiDomenico has scored four goals and dished out four assists for eight points. Meanwhile, second-year defenseman Pascal Amyot has registered a +10 rating versus the Titan in 2007-08, the best total of any Sea Dogs player. ALL HANDS ON DECK Game night Saint John entertains East Division rival Acadie-Bathurst tonight at 7 p.m.
Andrew McGilligan Telegraph-Journal Published Wednesday January 9th, 2008 Appeared on page B10
SAINT JOHN - It's been a rarity this season, but when the Saint John Sea Dogs step on the ice tonight against the Acadie-Bathurst Titan they won't be missing any players.
Not since the start of the season have the Sea Dogs had a healthy lineup. No one is injured heading into tonight's Quebec Major Junior Hockey League contest and three players - Steven Anthony, Simon Despres and Robert Mayer - are back from competing on the international stage.
Mayer represented Switzerland at the World Junior Hockey Championship while Anthony and Despres went head-to-head as members of Team Atlantic and Quebec, respectively, at the World Under-17 Hockey Championships in London, Ont.
Anthony played in Sunday's 6-1 loss to the St. John's Fog Devils while Despres and Mayer will be making their second-half debuts.
All are hoping to use the international experience as a springboard for a strong stretch run.
"It was a great experience," Anthony said of the under-17 tournament. "I got to play against the best players in the world in my age group, so it's nice to see where you stack up."
"In the tournament you play six games in six days so it's pretty intense. I think if I can take the intensity from (the tournament) and bring it back here, it will serve me well."
The rookie forward had three goals and one assist to lead Team Atlantic forwards in scoring.
As for Despres, he noted the intensity of the tournament along with the physical play as being different from the QMJHL.
"People would take big runs at each other, it was pretty unbelievable," the rookie blue-liner said.
The duo along, with Mayer, should provide a boost for the Sea Dogs, who lost the final two games of a three-game road trip in St. John's.
In 32 games, Anthony has five goals, seven assists and is plus 2. Despres has one goal, five assists and is plus 10 in 35 games. In 17 appearances thus far, Mayer is 9-5 with a 3.35 goals-against average with the Dogs.
The Sea Dogs have not lost three-consecutive games this season and captain Alex Grant doesn't want to start against the Titan.
He called Sunday's defeat one to forget for the Sea Dogs blue-liners.
"As a defensive core that was probably one of our worst games," Grant said. "Nothing was going right, all of the passes were in the air and going for icing."
Tonight's game is a chance for Saint John to right the ship against a team it defeated 9-2 in the last meeting.
"We need to have a solid game like we did last time against Bathurst," the captain said, "We need to realize that if we get down a few goals we can't start playing like individuals, but remain a team."
"Play solid defensively, keep things simple and get back on track."

St. Johns is behind us so no need to dwell on that. Let's get back to our winning ways against the Tits and maintain 1st place.
Who starts in goal tonight?
Edit: Just read the article stating we will have a full lineup...does this mean Gallant is not suspended?

I think we have a full line up meaning that there are 12 forwards plus our defence. What is going to happen when Gallant is done his suspension is that we have to start using a healthy scratch. This is when things get a little more complicated because do you sit a kid you want to develop over a player that won't be returning next year???
After we embarrassed them last time I am sure they will come out swinging tonight.

Anybody see the interview on channel 10 last night with Ryan Graham. Half the team is new with all the trades the Titan have made in the last few weeks so it won't be the same team the Dogs gave the thumping to in Bathurst. Should be a close game. Hope there are some fans in the seats with student nite at $5

So I wonder if they target Kirky or Dido with Gallant out of the lineup ...... might be a big mistake for whomever tries to take advantage of these two heavyweights!
On a more serious note it should be a closer game than 9-2 this time, if there goaltenders aren't playing musical goalie crease again..... I can hear the chant now Champ...ion...Champ....ion.
Ryan Graham and the rest o' the new cast will look strange in Tit-an uniforms. Prediction--5-3-- Sea Dogs, with Dido getting back on track with a couple.

You won't be able to miss Graham. Look for the slow overweight guy coasting on the ice.
