a first, Grenache and Labrie isn't worth Stanley, Graham, and a 2nd. It's a risk, but I think this has a chance of turning out quite well for the foggies.

Gezes look at all the picks for Marchand. That trade is pretty sick alot of players / picks involved overall between the 3 teams. Seems strange to me that the 1st RD picks won't come until 2011 and 2012? Read this on the Moose board so I dunno how accurate it is but the 1st rounders are so late because the 1st rounders for the next 2 years are conditionally tied up if a player (Malone?) reports to Halifax. Basically it is probably safe to assume that when/if he doesn't report, the earlier picks go to Val D'Or in exchange for those 2011 and 2012 ones. That or those far off picks will be swapped for players later on.

How so Labrie is gone in half a season and Grenache hasn;t proven much so far other then quitting on his team.............. I would have just hung onto Graham for the rest of the year.

So most of the trades today we're already done deals for the most part including the finishing off of the Howes trade by sending Dunnett to the Volts,
I'm curious whats going on with the PH deal. I know there is still more time for the deal to be complete just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on this one?

Exactly what I was thinking...I have been checking in all day to see what, if anything was going the other way.....looks like the 3rd and 5th(08) and 3rd(09) is the deal...good one IMO.

Don't forget with regard to the PH deal, BC had 2 choices, have him sit all season or trade him to a limited amount of teams in the East and get anything for him. I will be pleased if all we gave up were a few draft picks.

Sometimes the GM's wait to put the deal back through for whatever reason not saying it's a guarantee you paid more but if it appears too good to be true it probably is. Here is an example of such a deal last season: 2006-10-16 To Victoriaville Tremblay, Erick (1986-10-31) Val-d'Or Rd_5, 2007 Then a whole 10 days after the Christmas trading period opens 2006-12-28 To Val-d'Or Legault, Jason (1988-02-23) To Victoriaville Rd_5, 2007 (Vic) As for the deal the Devils made, I like it. We added a D man and got another 1st round pick which will come in handy either this trade period or at the draft to acquire players for next season.

Grenache quit because he never got a chance (a la Pard). Graham was unfortunately an expendable commodity because the return was a defensive upgrade (which they needed), a forward who can and will return next year (which they needed) and a swap of a 1st rounder for a 2nd.

From this morning's Telegraph Journal...
The Sea Dogs made one deal on Monday sending goaltender Nathan Dunnett to Drummondville for a ninth-round pick in 2008. The deal completes the trade made for 20-year-old forward Scott Howes earlier this season. Dunnett is currently between the pipes for the Miramichi Rivermen of the New Brunswick/Prince Edward Island Major Midget Hockey League. As for the deal made earlier this season with the Baie-Comeau Drakkar for the services of Alexandre Picard, unlike the Howes trade the Sea Dogs won't be sending any players to Baie-Comeau. Saint John sent a third and fifth-round picks in 2008 as well as a third-round selection in 2009 for the 20-year-old forward.

What else in Halifax gong to do and how much are they going to pay? Sauve and a host of picks was a pretty hefty price. I am looking forward to see how this Sauve kid matures because he is have a decent year as a 17 year old.

My opion I think the titan have made better overall trades then Halifax.Titan will be the team to watch out for after the break. I'm not sure I'm a huge fan of the Titan trade mostly because the defense has not really improved becayse they got rid over Desnoyers and Labrie and added Paris and Stanley. Paris is pure offense and very little defense and Stanley is a #5 at the absolute best. I do think they made a good deal in landing Graham giving them some much needed toughness up front and someone that can play with Perrault. Halifax sold the farm to get Marchand but that's the guy they wanted and they got him. The biggest issue here is there still have yet to address their issue on defense. I know there is still lots of time for more trades but they just lost quite a few draft picks to get Marchand. Looks like another hush day for JB and Co. not that I'm expecting very much to happen here anyway the team is in a good position.
