SEA DOGS HOME GAME ON DECEMBER 14 DESIGNATED ‘HOLIDAY FUN NIGHT’ FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Wednesday, December 12, 2007 SAINT JOHN, NB --- The Saint John Sea Dogs announced today that this Friday’s home game versus the Halifax Mooseheads has been designated ‘Holiday Fun Night’. Holiday-themed activities that will be offered at Friday’s match include pre-game carolling by the Rotary Boys & Girls Choir, an ice sculpting demonstration from renowned local artist Jim Crouch, complimentary cider samples courtesy of Stirling Apples, and a special second intermission visit from Santa Claus. In addition, the first 4,000 fans in attendance on Friday will receive a free holiday flashing light pin courtesy of the Sea Dogs. Friday night’s game is also presented by Rogers Cable. As part of the accompanying promotional sponsorship, the first 300 fans in attendance will receive a complimentary pair of noise makers, and for every goal scored by the Sea Dogs, Rogers will be giving away a television set to a lucky fan in attendance. Also, Trudy Gallagher, founder of Bejewel Homemade Jewellery, has provided Rogers with a special one-of-a-kind holiday piece that will be raffled off during the game. The Sea Dogs (21-9-1-2) currently trail the first-place Mooseheads (21-9-0-4) by a single point in the QMJHL East Division standings. Tickets to Friday night’s game are available by calling the Harbour Station Box Office at (506) 657-1234 or by visiting www.saintjohnseadogs.com.

If people do not come out for this game they will not come out for anything. Who would have thought that we would be in first place in December? How can this team not go for it because how much better of a start do you need? Not that we need them but are any of the injured players coming back or Gallant?

The most likely scenario is Gallant and Anthony being back for Friday while Hooper and Sparling remain out until after the break.

From the Telegraph-Journal on Monday morning....
As for the injury situation, Beaulieu said there's a 90 per cent chance Picard will be ready for Friday's game with Halifax while Gallant and Anthony should be ready to go. Sparling's shoulder injury will keep him out until at least after the break.

The Mooseheads will be short staffed as well with two at worlds and some sick and injured players the Moose will have to call up a few rookies to play for them this week-end...But will have a workers team effort and win 4-2 on Friday night!!!!!

You are absolutely right joey. If we go 2 & 4 in 4 games not only are we doing the impossible but we are doing something no other team in anysport in the world has ever done. Just a math tip 4 + 2 = 6. In any case 2 and 2 in our last 4 games in which we got robbed by a hot goalie and then split with the number two team in our division is not what I would call all that bad. A win on Friday could put us in first. Is that not going to get us in the playoffs either? If people do not come out for this game they will not come out for anything. Who would have thought that we would be in first place in December? How can this team not go for it because how much better of a start do you need? With the 3 hour time difference, day long plane ride, he would be one tired moose. Plus they've called up a player from Junior A and Midget AAA to fill Bodnarchuk and Voracek's slots.
