Like I said earlier playing two lines will catch up to us. It certainly is starting to show. The legs are going and JB has to swallow his pride and start playing the other guys more. If you look at the games we were not only outscored but outhit. When it gets physical we need to get physical as well. Thomas had 5 of our 9 good hits the other night and we only had half the hits as the other team. You cannot play guys like this for only two or three shifts a game. We need to bang with them and we are not. Then our legs start to go and we blow leads. Like body shots in a boxing match then in the end you get KO'd. Just my opinion but we need to get the bangers on the ice soon or it is going to be a long second half. Even stick them on with a couple of better players to do the tough work in the corners and knock some guys down.

SEA DOGS ESCAPE CHICOUTIMI WITH 5-4 WIN OVER SAGUENEENS Chris DiDomenico Scores Overtime Winner For Saint John In Uniquely Spaced Out Contest
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Sunday, November 18, 2007
CHICOUTIMI, QC --- In a game which saw a forty-three hour second intermission take place, the Saint John Sea Dogs were able to pull out a 5-4 win over the Chicoutimi Sagueneens on Sunday afternoon, finishing off a contest which started on Friday night before entering the theatre of the absurd.
The Sea Dogs dominated the Sagueneens on Friday, outpacing the home team in all phases of play en route to establishing a 4-0 lead over the course of the opening two periods. A power outage at the George Vezina Centre forced a postponement of the final frame, but the two teams were able to re-commence their tilt on Sunday afternoon at which point Chicoutimi’s offence decided to spring to life in dynamic fashion. The Sagueneens scored four times during Sunday’s continuance match, sending the game into overtime as the bizarre contest continued to defy logic.
In overtime however, the Sea Dogs were able to pull out the win, as Chris DiDomenico scored his twentieth goal of the season in the extra frame’s final minute.
“It was definitely a strange set of circumstances, but we’re very happy to be taking these two points home with us,” said DiDomenico following the wacky road victory.
In addition to his OT winner on Sunday, DiDomenico scored one goal on Friday, as did Alex Grant, Scott Howes, and Brett Gallant. Grant and DiDomenico will both stay in Chicoutimi to take part in the opening match of the ADT Canada-Russia Challenge tomorrow night. They will be joined by Sea Dogs team mates Yann Sauve and Simon Despres on the elite All-Star squad.
On Sunday, Chicoutimi’s Francis Pare, Nicolas Deschamps, Joel Champagne, and Jacob Lagace scored third period goals to earn a hard-fought single point for their team.
The QMJHL’s second-best penalty killing unit was tested early on Friday night, as the Sea Dogs were assessed a two-minute bench minor for poor arithmetic just 18 seconds into the first period. The Sagueneens came up empty on their early man-up opportunity, with Saint John’s rugged defensive core keeping Chicoutimi’s forwards from registering any notable scoring chances during the 120 second numerical discrepancy.
Saint John’s first power play session came at the 7:21 mark of the first period; the Sea Dogs took full advantage of the opportunity, as Alexandre Picard-Hooper fed Chris DiDomenico with a nifty pass which was quickly converted into a goal by the 18-year old sniper, who wired a one-timer to the back of the Sagueneens net over the right shoulder of starting Chicoutimi goaltender Bobby Nadeau to put the visitors up 1-0.
The Sea Dogs went up 2-0 nine minutes later when Steven Anthony and Scott Howes hooked up on an odd-man rush, with Howes finishing off the play with a hard shot that Nadeau was unable to stop. Port City’s major junior squad then went up by a field goal with 5.7 seconds remaining in the opening frame when Alex Grant pounced on a loose puck deep in Sagueneens territory and blasted a rocket of a shot to the back of the home team’s net to earn yet another power play marker for Saint John.
Veteran net minder Travis Fullerton played well for Saint John throughout the opening frame, turning aside all six shots he faced to give his team a 3-0 advantage after twenty minutes of play.
Fullerton was tested early in the second, with the Sagueneens registering the period’s first four shots, none of which got past the talented 20-year old, who continued to perform well in net for the Sea Dogs.
Brett Gallant then put Saint John up 4-0 at the 10:31 mark of the middle frame, firing a wrist shot from the slot that brought an end to Nadeau’s night upon its successful breaching of the Chicoutimi goal line. Francis Levesque replaced Nadeau between the pipes for the Sagueneens.
Levesque made a big save off of Scott Howes soon after his entry into the game, as the Sea Dogs continued to apply heavy pressure in Chicoutimi’s zone.
A pair of impressive penalty kills by Saint John’s defensive special teams unit accompanied the end of the second period, as Friday’s contest reached the forty minute mark with the Sea Dogs leading 4-0.
Then the lights went out. Literally. A power outage at the George Vezina Centre forced officials to call the game during the second intermission. However, a ruling by league commissioner Gilles Courteau on Saturday ensured that Friday’s uncompleted match would be wrapped on November 18 in Chicoutimi.
Flash forward to Sunday afternoon and Saint John had notched a marker in the loss column (5-3 to Baie-Comeau) while Chicoutimi had earned an impressive victory (6-1 over Cape Breton) in a pair of Saturday night contests.
The third period commenced at long last at 4:00pmEST on Sunday, with the Sagueneens cutting into the Sea Dogs’ lead 7:27 into the frame. Jacob Lagace brought an end to Travis Fullerton’s shutout bid when he banged home a rebound to make the score 4-1 with a power play marker.
Three minutes later, Chicoutimi struck again, with Francis Pare making the score 4-2 on the strength of his 15th goal of the season. The Sagueneens then pulled to within a single goal of the Sea Dogs lead with 3:08 remaining in regulation when Joel Champagne scored to keep the home team’s rally rolling.
Just nine seconds after Champagne’s goal, the game was tied by Nicolas Deschamps, who beat Fullerton with a well-placed shot to earn the unlikely equalizer and send the multi-day contest into overtime.
In the extra frame, Travis Fullerton made several big stops for Saint John as Chicoutimi’s forwards continued to apply heavy pressure in the Sea Dogs’ zone.
Chris DiDomenico rewarded his goaltender’s efforts at the 4:22 mark of OT, netting a skate-off rebound goal to hand Fullerton and Saint John the important victory. Fullerton now has eight wins on the season while the Sea Dogs have 14.
Saint John concludes their three-game tour of the Telus division with a record of 1-2. The team will next hit the ice on Friday, November 23 when they host the Baie-Comeau Drakkar at Harbour Station in a 7:30pm contest.

why did JB get the g.misc? My guess would be the ref not calling the interference on Gauthier in the neutral zone, thus leading to the Sags 2nd goal.

and he was still yelling about it in Over time? No. He went and kneeled with the officials at centre ice and prayed to the heavens.

why would he go on about it after they won Because he tends to not let things go to easy which is good for his team he's letting the league and their officials know that if they screw up the they should be held accoutable and personally I think they should be. It's a great thing that we still get 2 pts from this game the guys were no doubt exhausted and 4 of them play again tonight well I hope they all play both games I figure Despres may only play 1 of the 2 games.
