Who would have thought our record would be 9-3-0-1 after 12 games going into this season. Someone not very good at math.

Suprised to see all 3 stars were the Dogs Especially a surprise since not 1 of the 3 was Mayer.

Who would have thought our record would be 9-3-0-1 after 12 games going into this season. Watched the entire game and the Dogs are playing well i have to say. Mayer is always in position, except for once or twice tonight, But I think it was Grant? who was there to dive and make the save for him. Much different team then the Sea Dogs from last year. Although you did play a good game tonight in Lewiston, and Lewiston was unfortunatly not getting any bounces or luck; out of your 9-3-0-1 record, 8 of those games were played at home and 6 out of your 9 wins are on home ice. To stay in the upper portion of the league you guys need to hope your team can carry the good play on the road once they get some grueling road trips going.

SEA DOGS TAKE DOWN MAINEIACS Robert Mayer Makes 21 Saves as Saint John Earns an Impressive 3-1 Road Win in Lewiston
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Wednesday, October 24, 2007
LEWISTON, ME --- The Saint John Sea Dogs seized sole possession of third place in the QMJHL East on Wednesday night, besting the team with whom they’d previously been tied with in the standings, the Lewiston MAINEiacs, by a score of 3-1 at Androscoggin Bank Coliseum.
The Sea Dogs again received a stellar performance from rookie goaltender Robert Mayer, who made 21 saves on 22 shots to earn his sixth victory of 2007-08. Offensively, Saint John saw production from Payton Liske, Chris DiDomenico, and Steven Anthony, who each chipped in one goal apiece as the Sea Dogs registered an impressive road performance south of the border.
“This was a very encouraging performance by our team,” said Head Coach/GM Jacques Beaulieu following the victory. “Our guys played hard for a full sixty minutes out there and we did a good job of controlling play in all three zones. Hopefully we can keep this momentum going into Friday’s game in Bathurst.”
Saint John registered the fist notable scoring chance of the game on Wednesday, with Alexandre Picard-Hooper unleashing a rocket of a shot deep in Lewiston’s zone that starting MAINEiacs goaltender Jonathon Bernier got a glove on early in the first period. Lewiston was subsequently able to capitalize on their first big scoring chance of the night, as Alex Beaton scored a short-handed goal at the 5:15 mark of the opening frame, beating Mayer through the five-hole to put the home team up 1-0.
The Sea Dogs tied things up 5:10 later when Chris DiDomenico set Payton Liske up for his third goal of the season. Liske returned the favour 3:19 thereafter, feeding a streaking DiDomenico with a picture-perfect pass that the 18-year old converted into his 10th goal of the season, beating Bernier with a high shot to the stick side and putting the visiting squad from Port City up 2-1. A big penalty kill by the Sea Dogs’ special teams unit in the closing minutes of the opening twenty gave Saint John a one-goal advantage as the first intermission got underway.
Mayer made a big save off of a Stefano Giliati slap shot in the opening minute of the second period, effectively cutting off the left winger’s angle on an odd-man rush and blocking the hard shot with his shoulder, refusing to surrender a rebound as several MAINEiacs hovered nearby, ready to pounce upon a loose puck near the Sea Dogs goal crease. Jonathan Bernier replied by making an impressive save of his own a moment later, stoning rookie forward Michael Kirkpatrick from point-blank range to prevent his team from incurring a multi-goal deficit early in the middle frame.
An impressive individual effort by Scott Howes then put Saint John up 3-1 at the 12:31 mark of the second; the 20-year old winger danced through traffic deep in Lewiston’s zone, beating a pair of defenseman with some impressive stick handling prior to getting a decent shot off that Steven Anthony was able to deflect past Bernier to both earn his third goal of the year and quantitatively validate his line mate’s efforts.
Anthony’s tip-in tally proved to be the final marker of the second period, and Wednesday’s contest reached the forty minute mark with the Sea Dogs holding a solid 3-1 advantage over the defending President’s Cup Champions.
Stefan Chaput appeared to have scored the MAINEiacs’ second goal of the game 1:04 into the third period, but video replay analysis provided officials with evidence that the Saint John net had been off its moorings as the puck had crossed the line, negating the Lewiston tally and thusly preserving the two-goal advantage held by the visitors.
The MAINEiacs continued to produce offensive opportunities throughout regulation’s final frame, but were unable to beat the poised, talented net minder between the pipes for Saint John, as Mayer added seven saves to his total in the third, finishing the game with 21 stops.
Alex Grant earned Third Star of the Game honours in recognition of his strong defensive play on Wednesday night, while DiDomenico and Liske, who each tallied 1G-1A-2P in the match, earned Second and Third Star nods respectively.
Saint John next hits the ice on Friday night in a road contest versus the Acadie-Bathurst Titan. The following evening, the Sea Dogs return to Port City for a 7:00pm tilt with the St. John’s Fog Devils at Harbour Station.

Lewy has been red hot and with Bernier in net it figured to be a tough night and goals might be hard to come by but they pulled it out with a solid road performance. Awesome game defense stood tall all night and continue to frustrate teams gotta love it! ;D

G-Unit change your damn name to "Kiss of Death" or something. You're a fucking curse. First you say "when I say they will lose, they win!", and how do you follow that up? With the brilliant comment of "good job by the dogs. Keep it going. We should have no problem with the Fog Devils". I bet we fucking lose 6-2 now. Oh leask, such a stupid guy. It will be 12-2. Geez
