SEA DOGS DESIGNATE PISANO FOR ASSIGNMENT
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Wednesday, September 19, 2007
SAINT JOHN, NB --- Saint John Sea Dogs Head Coach/General Manager Jacques Beaulieu announced today that the team has designated defenseman Anthony Pisano for assignment with the Weeks Crushers of the MJAHL. Pisano remains Sea Dogs property as part of the team’s 50-man roster.
“We feel that Anthony will benefit greatly from playing with the Crushers,” said Beaulieu. “He has a lot of raw skill that needs to be refined, and playing in the MJAHL will give him a chance to develop as a hockey player.”
Port City native and Sea Dogs draft pick Andrew Langan is also playing with Weeks this season, and is also part of Saint John’s 50-man roster.
The Sea Dogs currently possess a record of 1-1 on the 07-08 season following an impressive 6-3 road victory over the PEI Rocket on Sunday. Saint John next hits the ice in the team’s Home Opener, scheduled to take place this Friday, September 21 at 7:30pm at Harbour Station.
Season Tickets, Flex Packs, and the new All-Star Mini-Pak are all still available for the upcoming season. Information on all ticketing options can be obtained by calling the Sea Dogs’ office at (506) 657-DOGS (3647).

I have no problem refining his skills in the MJAHL as long as it gets him some playing time

Unfortunate news for Pisano but likely the best for the future(next season). He will get a chance to cut his teeth in Junior A gaining fighting experience and playing a regular shift. Look for the big Pisano vs Mugford rematch when their 2 teams play each other. The Mjahl has some decent toughness this year.
It is too bad he couldn;t find his way into the lineup during the Gallant suspension but we play 2 fairly soft teams in Cape Breton and Lewiston.

What can you tell me about Pisano now that he will be playing for my hometown Crushers? It sounds like he can fight. Does he have decent hockey skills?

I told you naysayers the conversation went like this. JB - Good Job kid Pisano - Thanks Coach Only a few agreed. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Well it turns out the conversation was something more like this; JB - What the F*#K were you thinking Pisano! Pisano - I thought...um..ummm. JB - You're not paid to think, thats my job! Pisano- - Sorry Coach Thought it kind of strange we hadn't seen Pisano in a while..seems like forever... looks as though the move he made in Bathurst could have something to do with this. He will have a full season for his brain to grow and catch up to the rest of his body.... "only a few agreed." F'n Trolls

Like JB said he has raw talent but need the time to improve which he won't get here. Just far to much depth on defense for him to get the icetime he needs to get better. For me I'd like to see him improve on his skating I seen him in practice and changing direction was a big issue for me his size gets in his way sometimes. Guys will likely think twice about going after your better players though cuz he likes to drop the gloves.

F'n Trolls Your living in a world of delusion.......................go back and read the article where JB praised Pisano for reacting to a cheap shot. This is simply a move to develop Pisano to come in and be the team tough guy next season when Gallant will be 20. He will play a bery minor role on our team this year so its better to drop him a level and let the kid play and gain some much needed experience in fighting.

^^^ What he said...I'm not really a troll I don't try to stir up shit. But I can’t help that some posters just have a hostile attitude to out of towners. Generally when I post over here at least one or 2 SJ fans will agree with me, dose that make them trolls too? Just because I don't agree with every thing you say and you don't agree with everything I say doesn’t make me a troll hell I’ve done most of my arguing over here with Canucklehead and he hasn't called me a Troll yet not that I know of anyway.

I don't know about this move. MacDonald would have been better served development-wise than Pisano by being dropped. Pisano is a big body that we'll likely only ever rely on for toughness and size and "less skill based" attributes. MacDonald is someone I could see us needing in the future to play a more important role...say as a 3-4 Dman on the depth chart. Pisano at best would only be like a 6 on the depth charts in the future.
The attributes we need MacDonald developing require more gameplay and icetime than what we need from Pisano, IMO. I think I would have demoted MacDonald before Pisano just for that reason.

Think what you want killer , I do, the proof is in the pudding...Pisano hasn't got a sniff since Bathurst, and thats a fact....what was JB going to do ?...shit on the kid in the media, no he kept it in house..like it's supposed to be. Pisano isn't on the team and I say its because of a stupid move ...and I agree he will polish his "skills" at a lower level and that will be better for the Dogs in the future. But a move to develop Pisano, please you can't even believe that...Talk about a world of delusion!

Come on LIMH if we needed his size and toughness at any time, it's now with Gallant sitting..and he gets "re-assigned" today...I respect your opinion, any explanation,.....

I don't expect everyone to agree with what I say thus I won't call you a troll shit if I did that everyone here would be a troll at some point lol. If we all agreed on everything wouldn't things be kinda boring here? Best of luck to Pisano last night I know he's pretty let down by this but he'll be back! ;D
