Not sure if Peter is french. I really don't understand though, why we have to do things in french. Halifax doesn't, PEI doesn't, Cape Breton doesn't, and Lewiston definately doesn't. Our intermissions aren't in french, and our website isn't in french, and literature that is sent out is all in english. Don't get me wrong, I'm not anti-french whatsoever...however if they can only find a quality announcer that only speaks english, then I'm fine with just doing it in english. my guess would be because New Brunswick is a bilingual province. however, with the exception of the players and maybe 100 fans (that number might be a bit generous), i think everyone else in the building's first and possibly only language is english. but there were some easy things lastnight that buddy didn't know. numbers, penalties, etc. and i think it's good when the announcer says the player's name in french, if he's a french speaking player or has a french name.

I don't have a problem with it either with this being the first Bus trip for me I never knew other places weren't doing it. Even still his english needs work too or maybe he was extremely nervous. Hope it wasn't the crowd cuz it's gonna get bigger. Wonder how many of the big wigs were impressed that we had some french from our announcer lol. Either way I don't care I found him kinda funny just not in the way I'm sure he would have liked ;D

LOL, when he announced the starting refs he forgot the 3rd one and said MR MURPHY and I cant read my own hand writing... then hes like RYAN MURPHY... Long pause before O'Canada started or even a warning to get up and stand for O'Canada guess they had to start on the dot at 7 no starting early.

I'd offer to do it but I tend to work during ALL the games. And Cromwell actually wasn't that good with the french either, he just actually tried.

Peter did some last year I liked it because he would put energy into it ... HARBOUR STATION LETS MAKE SOME NOISE FOR THE SEA DOGS... stuff like that.. I feel an announcer needs to put voice into the home team and get things reved up the more energy into the names the more the players will want to score to hear that pro voice saying the name to get them fired up...
if that involves saying it in one language than let it be... I'm pretty sure even French people understand the concept of after a goal when they say a name and number thats who scores the goal and after that is the people who helped get the goal.. however I guess the whole harbour station speech before the game would need to be in both languages Incas theres someone who can only speak one language and just doesn't know that throwing objects in the direction of players or officials is just against the rules..

I think having a crooked used car salesman as announcer is about as low class as it gets. This guy better not be back again. You get a radio personality to do that kind of job, or someone with public speaking experience. You umm...give them an interview and trial run maybe? Did they not learn the lesson from that drunk/high idiot last year singing the anthem???

I think personally that Peter would be the best option and he does have energy in his voice.

If peter does it we can hire a new DJ and have better music... such a good idea!!.. Because the announcer usally sits in the broadcast booth... where as the dj sits in the sound booth..
