Its game day...
We remain the only team without a regulation time loss...We are short a few key players tonight but can we still get it done?

Well, assuming they play the vets, instead of sitting them like last game, I would expect Lewiston to win perhaps 4-2. The two biggest Lewy Dmen vets sat last game, and as someone pointed out, there was no one to clear out the front of the net.

Both teams will be missing players.
This game is more about whether the kids have bought into the systems yet and whether they are ready to step it up a notch. Guys to watch might be McDonald, Pisano, McNeil, Pard, Kirkpatrick, and Stoddard, always watching Despres and Anthony.
Line combos should be interesting too.
Who's the 1st line center tonight?

I'll go with F. Char. centering Knox and Sparling...with Knox taking the draws...he took 14 last game as a winger....went 6 and 8 for 42% Liske ,Anthony,Stoddard (2nd)......Char, Kirk., Pard..... and Thomas, Leduc, Gauthier
...and I'll go 5-3 ..Dogs

Whoot Whoot I hope we continue to play like that all year! On another note Lewiston #47 Danick Paquette what a p***y Be careful or else the Crazy King will come yelling at you en francais for picking on his boy!!! It was terrible how Paquette was playing the tough guy on our younger smaller players and then when Pisano issues the challenge he ran for the bench. Wonder what he will do in the regular season when Gallant comes knocking?

SEA DOGS ROUT MAINEIACS…AGAIN
Saint John Improves to 3-0-1 in the Pre-Season With a 6-2 Home Win Over Lewiston
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Wednesday, September 5, 2007
SAINT JOHN, NB --- After enduring an 8-4 shellacking at the hands of the Saint John Sea Dogs on their home ice this past Friday night, the Lewiston MAINEiacs arrived at Harbour Station on Wednesday undoubtedly anxious to put forth a strong effort in the finale of the two teams’ home-and-home exhibition series.
Despite earning an early 2-0 lead however, the MAINEiacs were embarrassed by Saint John yet again on Wednesday, with the Sea Dogs netting six unanswered goals en route to a second straight lopsided win over the defending President’s Cup Champions, this time in front of their home fans.
A balanced attack was utilized by Saint John in their fourth pre-season contest, with 13 players tallying points on the night. Matthew Stoddard led the way offensively with 1G-1A-2P in the match, while Jordan Knox, Alexandre Leduc, and Mike Thomas each registered a pair of assists.
On defense, Yann Sauve put forth a noble effort against the MAINEiacs, firing nine shots on net in addition to posting a rating of +2 and assisting on Saint John’s lone power play tally of the night.
Despite surrendering a pair of early tallies, goaltender Travis Fullerton also performed extremely well on Wednesday night, making 21 saves while shutting out the Lewiston offence for the final 52:31 of the game.
All in all, it was a solid effort for the Sea Dogs.
“We really controlled the tempo of the game tonight,” said Head Coach/GM Jacques Beaulieu. “Our defense did a good job in the neutral zone and in our end and our forwards put a lot of pucks on net. When you combine that will solid goaltending and a full sixty minute effort, the results take care of themselves.”
The MAINEiacs struck first on Wednesday night, with David Taylor beating Fullerton with a high shot 3:34 into the first period. Lewiston went up 2-0 after Jakub Bundil wired a wrist shot over Fullerton’s left shoulder 3:55 later. After ringing a shot of the right post of Lewiston’s net early in the first period, rookie forward Steven Anthony was stymied again late in the opening frame, this time by the right pad of Lewiston goaltender Peter Delmas, who stoned the talented freshman from point blank range with 3:21 remaining in the first period to keep the MAINEiacs up by a two. Delmas recorded 16 saves in the opening twenty minutes, an extreme improvement over his Friday night performance in which he was in net for all eight Saint John tallies.
Saint John finally got on the scoreboard at the 3:15 mark of the second period, as Payton Liske took a feed from Jordan Knox on a two-on-none break and unleashed a rocket of a shot that Delmas failed to block as the Lewiston lead was all-of-a-sudden cut in half. The Sea Dogs tied the match late in the second period, as Francis Charland found the back of the net for the third time in two games with 2:37 remaining in the middle frame, sending the contest into the second intermission with the scored knotted at two apiece in the process.
Kirk Rafuse took over goaltending duties for Lewiston in the third period, making a pair of early saves to keep his team in the game as Saint John vehemently pursued their first lead of the night.
The home team finally earned a one-goal advantage with 12:13 remaining in regulation as Keven Charland tucked a backhand between the pads of Rafuse after being sprung on a breakaway by Matthew Stoddard. The Sea Dogs went up 4-2 thirty-five seconds later, with Nicolas Pard beating Rafuse high to award the visiting squad from the Pine Tree State a two-goal deficit midway through the third period.
A third goal was surrendered by Rafuse at the 15:13 mark of the third, as Stoddard capped off his impressive evening with a power play tally that gave Saint John a 5-2 advantage. Second-round draft pick Michael Kirkpatrick put the home team up by four shortly thereafter, with Jordan Knox and Alexandre Leduc earning assists on what proved to be the final goal of the evening.
The Sea Dogs wrap up their exhibition campaign with a home-and-home series against the the Acadie-Bathurst Titan this weekend. On Friday, Saint John travels to the K.C. Irving Centre for a night game prior to heading back to Harbour Station for an afternoon contest on Sunday, September 9.

That was almost complete domination! Their only goals were gabage: bad snafus by Sauve and McDonald with Travis not stepping up when needed. BTW the stats guys must have been taking beer breaks. They missed at least two obvious shots for each team. If count shots taken, I bet we outshot them 75-25.

Paquette was running players all night but when Pisano stepped in he couldn't get to the bench fast enough. Its a long season so he'll have to step up and answer the bell sometime to Pisano or Gallant.
