I thought the goaltending and D were solid. Especially Grant and Despres. Amyot, Stich and Sauve were good but not great. Grant to me has emerged as the face of this team so far and is a huge presence out there all the time. Nice to see finally.
Forwards were good, not great. Would have liked to see Gallant, but other than Herr, I don't think any Cats would have taken him on. Hit by Thomas was deadly, but the timing was pretty late.
All in all a good night, although nobody seems to be talking about the fact that we iced our best possible team without Knox or Gallant. Moncton was missing some key guys including Marquart, Eagles, Pianosi, Cameron, Morehouse, etc. who would have made a difference. If Moncton was supposed to be weak this year then the Dogs performance last night against a weak Cats lineup has to be rated as average. The potential is there, but can JB get these guys to click and play up to their potential?

Didos line would have been alot more often then they were last night I assure you. They are playing everyone more evenly right now to get a feel for who is going to play on what line and who will be cut.

Thought in the game from start to finish, Dido and Sparling were by far the 2 best forwards on the ice(for both teams). Created dangerous opportunity almost every shift. Would love to see this continue throughout the season.

I kinda felt the sea dogs where not even playing at a 100% level, it seemed they just wanted to play one step above the cats, just my opinion but whenever the cats started to pick there game up a bit the sea dogs seemed to pick theres up and when the game got physical so did the dogs.. I know players are fighting to make the team in all but i just felt overall the sea dogs just wernt playing at there fullest and I expect a different team come home opener and the next couple of weeks.. Gage town will be great for the dogs as they will be doing team building and getting the lines together with a whole lot of practices I think JB and the team can put on a show that will be enjoyed by all sea dog fans and maybe a few fans of other teams as well..
