Nice artical on every ones favorite player in this mornings paper, miny me tony resendes ,high praise comeing from jb and the rest of the coaching staff on his performance so far. so what do they do , you got knox playing well, accident prone charland playing well , and you got fullerton, one of them has to go. I have been impressed with the play of charland when hes out their, if you do something stupid like trade him after you go through so much trouble to get him, it just might come back and bite you in the ass, if he was to stay healthy.

I'm confused Fullerton was working very close with Mayer yesterday during the practice which leads me to believe they are still hedging towards keeping them as the goaltending tandem. Knox and Charland have both played well unfortunately my biggest concern is do we let Resendes go and hope and pray Charland can stay healthy for an entire season? He's had some issues during a scrimmage which is a real concern for me. Resendes at 5' 8" might be small but he's really sticking out more than alot of other players maybe someone could doctor up his birth certifcate? I know when the red helmet is on the ice he gets my attention and I'm sure he would quickly become a fan favorite if he somehow stayed with the team. The only way I see him staying is if Fullerton is dealt or sent to Jr I dunno tough decision I guess we'll have to trust JB on this one.

No way he's 5'8.
I am not intimate with the OA rules, but I'm hearing some 3 goalie talk from hockey people I know. Sit Fullerton when Mayer starts ala Hasek. It also provides some insurance for Charland. AT 5'zip you have to wonder if Resendes is even as sturdy as Charland. Split their time and we might get a full season out of them.

Cormier had a real good day yesterday that kept him on the team. I think he saved his butt in the morning scrimmage but unless he is amazing tonight his ride is over. When are they posting who will play tonight?
As for Resendes he is the kind of guy you don't want on another team. He is a pest with skill and speed. He is one of those guys that could become a fan favorite but absolutely hated in other arenas.

Finley was just flat out more noticeable then Cormier...he hit absolutley everything that moved and goes all out every shift. I understand Cormier is younger which gives him a huge advantage...however he isnt' good enough to play on the top 2 lines, finley could be a press box guy. He did fight the guy listed at 6'6 230....lets say he is 6'4 215...Justin is 5'10 185. Also he would gladly go out and get beat like that if the team wanted to..
Also that Resends kid, stood out big time... I'd say Knox is in for sure, but why not get rid of Charland...i didn't see him do anything great out there. If Resends plays well in the Ex. games i say we gamble

The biggest problem with Finley is that he's 19 and Cormier is 17 neither will be on the team once the roster is set anyway. Cormier is likely there to gain experience while Finley won't make it this year and surely won't even be in camp next year.
Resendes - I wish they could find a way to keep this guy I'm just going with my gut in saying Charland is gonna end up hurt again and then we'll wish we had Resendes. I guess the best thing to do is wait and see. I know he'd be a fan favorite without a doubt he's be the underdog "Rudy Rudy Rudy!!!!" I hope he plays Saturday night love to see him in game action he was MVP last year in his league which I think is similar to Jr A (could be wrong)

Oh yah i knew he would get cut, but i am suprised to see him go before cormier and i am suprised he didn't get any time in an exhibtion game. Could have been fun to maybe watch a couple of my novice teammates "him and morehouse" drop the gloves.
Its not like Charland is irreplaceable even if Resends doesn't pan out, i'm sure they could find a guy to come in if need be. Where did Resends play last year CH?

If Resends plays well in the Ex. games i say we gamble I never even considered that as an option...why not cut Charland , seems injury prone. Thats a tough descision I'm glad it's not up to me. Gurette-Charland 40 12 17 29 Resendes 44 35 42 77 Sure they played in different leagues ..but Resendes does seem like a real spark-plug To quote his coach from last year, Bill Flangan"Tony was dominant at both ends of the ice for us this year. Not only great offensive production.. he was our best penalty killer" Very interesting...JB did say "He was unsure about NCAA or to come here so we chased him a bit" Hmmmmmmm
