I thought I would make a thread that people can post info about the world juniors so that it's east for people to find info on what players are cut and games. Kind of like a giant GDT for all the games. I'm going to list the players that are at team Canada camp and as they get cut, I'll strike out their name. Players in Blue are QMJHL players.
Goaltenders [glow=blue,2,300]Jonathan Bernier[/glow]
*[glow=red,2,300]Leland Irving[/glow] Steve Mason
[glow=red,2,300]Tyson Sexsmith[/glow]
Defence *Karl Alzner
[glow=red,2,300]Andrew Bodnarchuck[/glow] Drew Doughty
[glow=red,2,300]Keaton Ellerby[/glow] Josh Godfrey Thomas Hickey [glow=blue,2,300]Kevin Marshall[/glow] Logan Pyett Luke Schenn PK Subban
[glow=red,2,300]Ty Wishart[/glow] Brendan Smith
Forward Zachary Boychuk
[glow=red,2,300]Cory Emmerton[/glow]
[glow=red,2,300]Angelo Esposito[/glow] Colton Gillies [glow=blue,2,300]Claude Giroux[/glow] Mathew Halischuck Zack Hamill Riley Holzapfel Stefan Legein
[glow=red,2,300]Brett MacLean[/glow] [glow=blue,2,300]*Brad Marchand[/glow] Shawn Mattias
[glow=red,2,300]Mathieu Perrault[/glow] Wayne Simmonds
[glow=red,2,300]Nick Spaling [/glow] Steven Stamkos Brandon Sutter John Tavares Kyle Turris
[glow=red,2,300]Dana Tyrell[/glow] Ryan White
* means they were part of the gold medal team last year.
I'm pretty sure that I missed some names there so if you could PM me with who I missed, that would be great.

Perreault had an assist in the Red-White game on Tuesday...hopefully he can keep it up! Here's the article: www.tsn.ca/world_jrs/news_story/?ID=224986&hubname=Hartsburg says no cuts will be made until tomorrow (Thursday) meaning the players will all get one more chance to show their stuff in an intersquad game tonight.

Ok ... so it will be Thursday when we can expect the "unfair to Q players" threads.

As much as I'd like to see Perreault make the team, I'd also like to have him back here, not missing time.

Just to update:
Nick Spaling (Kitchener, OHL) and Cory Emmerton (Brampton, OHL) have both left the team due to mono.
The camp roster is now at 35 players with things having to get narrowed down to 22 (2 goalies, 7 defencemen and 13 forwards) by Friday.

Team White scores win at Selection Camp
Canadian Press
12/12/2007 12:21:30 AM
"Stefan Legein, as an older player who played (in the Super Series) in the summer, was probably the most competitive of those players."
Zach Hamill of the Everett Silvertips also scored for White. Zach Boychuk of the Lethbridge Hurricanes had a goal and an assist for Red.
Riley Holzapfel of the Moose Jaw Warriors had two assists for White, while Mathieu Perreault of the Acadie-Bathurst Titan had one. Red's Matt Halischuk of the Kitchener Rangers also earned an assist.
Jonathan Bernier of the Lewiston Maineiacs stopped 11 of 12 shots in White's net for half a game before Everett's Leland Irving came in to turn away 10 of 11.
London Knights goaltender Steve Mason also stopped 11 of 12 for Red over 30 minutes before Vancouver Giant Tyson Sexsmith came in to make eight saves on 10 shots.
Red won the shootout drill at the game's conclusion 4-3 with Boychuk, Saskatoon's Colton Gillies, Belleville's Shawn Matthias and Sault Ste. Marie's Wayne Simmonds scoring on Irving. Holzapfel, Oshawa's Brett MacLean and Quebec's Angelo Esposito scored on Sexsmith.
Hartsburg said no players would be released Wednesday morning, so the four goalies, 12 defencemen and 20 forwards will all participate in another intrasquad game at night.
Two goaltenders, a dozen defencemen and 13 forwards will be named later this week to the Canadian team that will try to win the country's fourth straight gold medal at the IIHF world under-20 men's hockey championship.
Canada opens defence of its title Dec. 26 in Pardubice against the host Czech Republic.
CALGARY - Stefan Legein of the Niagara IceDogs and Steve Stamkos of the Sarnia Sting were standouts in the Canadian junior hockey team's first intrasquad game of selection camp Tuesday.
Legein, a Columbus Blue Jackets draft pick, had two goals and an assists to lead White to a 3-2 win over Red.
Stamkos, a 17-year-old projected to be a top pick in the 2008 NHL draft, scored a goal and contributed an assist for Red.
"I thought Steve Stamkos was really good for a young player," head coach Craig Hartsburg said. "He showed a lot of energy and a lot of speed and played extremely hard.

Haven't heard Perreault's name mentioned anywhere in written nor TV reports and he isn't putting up any points on the scoreboard.

He had an assist in the first game- the report mentioned him. Apart from that, not much else. I think they've only played 2 scrimmages. Claude Giroux just got his first assist last night. With a tight checking, low scoring type of play, points are going to be hard to come by. As far as news on players goes, the media seems to be focusing on certain ones unfortunately. Hopefully some reporter will have his blog going or something with thoughts on all players' performances.

The media fixation on Espo is still going strong even after 2 less than stellar seasons.
