Hmm.. interesting moves. I like the Delmas addition, Corbeil needs some help and if Delmas plays well enough, could give us something to trade at the draft. Mcdonald is a player I was hoping we might pick up, maybe we are the team he can put it together with. Never a bad thing to aquire a 17 with some skill. Can't see the Shawinigan deal happening, but interesting here about it.

Le Rocket a fait parvenir Bradley MacDonald (92-06-14) aux Mooseheads en retour de Guillaume Pelletier (91-02-09).
Can't complain at that one! MacDonald for Pelletier.

Wow, gotta like that move. Was never a fan of Pelletier. I'll take my chances with MacDonald.

WOW...whats wrong with Savard? LOL I dont think anything is wrong with him. If he actually made a good trade I would then ask if something was wrong with him!

Once again Cam makes himself look like a genus. Getting ride of a player that shouldn't have been here for a guy who hasn't been given a solid chance with loads of up side. Now we got 2 good goalies should win a few more maybe.

I wouldn't call delamas a good goalie, more like a recalamation project...Roy basically dumped him for Tardif.

Strange for someone who doesn't want to be in the Q. Maybe playing at home is a better option for him. Either way, little risk.

Yeah strange a guy who doesn't want to play in the league, is coming to practice. No risk takin here. And reclamation or not, I will take my chances with Delmas. CP you have a great team in Moncton why don't you go back to their board and talk about them, leave us with our little team here, lol. jk

Now we got 2 good goalies should win a few more maybe. I wouldn't call Cam a genius (or genus) based on these two trades alone. Don't get me wrong I really like the trades and I think they are good for Halifax. For the most part Cam stuck to his plan (youth movement). We trade Pelletier (18) for a 17 yr old. Delmas doesn't fit the youth movement, but it was a good acquisition. A 6th round in 2011 for a experienced guy to help Corbeil. Halifax isn't going to make the playoffs, but I don't think they could have traded any D (the moose are really thin right now on D). Cam has done a great job of stocking the cupboards with quality draft picks already so it isn't like they needed to go out and get more. Since Cam took the job he has had a plan, and even with the hardships this year (the losses, the injuries, the attendance) he has stuck to that plan. Credit has to go to Bobby Smith for allowing Cam to stick to the plan (especially considering the attendance). They didn't panic and make any bandaid trades like adding 20 yr olds for the sake of having 3. When you are rebuilding no need to waste assets like that (see PEI).

Was an interesting trade period.
For Moncton...the best of times, the fans on their board are rejoicing PEI and Saint John...the worst of times, I would not want to be Savard or Long based on some of the comments. Cape Breton somewhere in the middle. Bathurst made their usual number of moves to give a completely new look for the second half.
Not much was expected from the Moose and I agree with Smiley in that the Moose did not do too bad. I think we expected Amyot to be moved but we got a pick for Metcalfe instead. Perhaps MacDonald will be an upgrade on Pellitier and he is a year younger. Grondin was not ready for the Q and hopefully Delmas is healthy enough to push Corbeil.
I personally am glad we still have Knotek as after having a solid World Junior I think he may be even better in the second half.
Our latest loosing streak will make in tough to make the playoffs but both Baie Comeau and Lewiston should be weaker after unloading some stars and we should be better in the second half . So you never know.
