Who cares first overall pick. 3rd is fine with me. Making the play-offs would be awesome and such a huge boost for this team. Now if making the play-offs is done by jeopradizing our young players development I would not want to see it. But if it can be done with the younger players involved I am all for it. I really get sick of the statement by Q fans, this is not our year. Well the year we had Marchand.......... It was'nt the year of the team that beat us. Now I know we wont win the League or get even past the first round. But be nice to make a team work for their first round series against us. Than imagine us next year with all those draft picks, a more experienced team with, player maturity, and well abit of a winning attitude.
Inclosing if we finish the season with the First pick will still be good. As long as we play hard until the end we cant come out of this season in worst shape.

i don't think the majority of fans would bother to go see 2 extra games this season, playoffs or not, so i'd prefer to see the 1st overall pick.

Especially since the teams that would pass Halifax in the euro draft, are likely bets to trade their pick to a team that would be targetting similar players Halifax would.

You might not go, but I think the majority of FANS would! Actually, history says your wrong. The attendance is always disappointing in the 1st round of the playoffs for the Moose, and I believe usually less than season average. Factor in on top of that, a likely 4 game sweep against the top team, and voila, a sea of orange at MC. I just want them to continue the player development they have shown thus far. Make the playoffs, great! Miss the playoffs, who cares!

The drop off in attendance is primarily due to businesses who hold regular season's tickets not buying playoff ducats. Discount these empty seats and I would still venture to say the folks who are there are the real FANS.

God help Drummondville if they win their division and you guys make it. That would be one heck of a sick joke for a first round matchup.

Thanks for your input...........but as usual you post before engaging brain or doing any research. I do not dispute they would win the series, probably easily. 1)They beat us 5-3 in Drummondville early in the year, with an emty netter and we beat them 2-1 last week at the Metre Centre. They definately smoked us those 2 games. 2)They have to finish first in their division to play us and right now they are tied with Victoriaville who is on an 8 game winning streak. So it is not a sure thing that they will play us. So keep up the informed posting.

If they win their division, they finish 2nd overall and get a team that could beat them, unlike say, Quebec who gets Bathurst.

Mean while....Moncton will play CB and Saint John will play PEI...
Yip...the Q playoff format is very very fair...
This year is showing just how messed up this format is.

Yes it is. Quebec was able to sell and not really change their playoff destiny.

Discount these empty seats and I would still venture to say the folks who are there are the real FANS. I have been a fan and season ticket holder for 15 years, I did not pre-buy playoff tickets last year in February and won't this year, primarily because I wouldn't want to dole out the money unnecessarily, ahead of time. I will decide this year, should they make the playoffs, the day before the game. For the record, I know about 10 individuals (not companies) who buy the playoff ticket on their CC, solely because any money owed to them, will simply goes towards the next year. They may or may not go. So you better take them into account in your calculations. My philosophy is the same this year, as last. If they play the kids all the way till the end, and make the playoffs, I'm there. Shorten the bench to try and make the playoffs, I'm not.
