A playoff round would be gravy this year but is not important in the long run. There's a lot of good young talent on this team with lots of room to get better. The next draft will be crucial to picking up a few more pieces to build a contending team especially up front. The rest of the season is all about development for the young players. Losing isn't fun but they are in just about every game so that takes away some of the sting. I've resigned myself to the fact that I won't see either of my teams, the Moose or the Leafs in the playoffs this year. At least with the Moose, I have hope for next year!

If you all honestly believe that the Maineiacs are going to "tank it" this year, you need to get your hockey facts straightened out a bit.
Lewiston playing .500 hockey the rest of the way would not surprise me, nor should it surprise most people. Young, but very talented is this group, and any team taking the Maineiacs lightly will be in trouble.
If you make the playoffs this year in Moose-land, it will be because Bathurst come tumbling down, and while that is technically possible, it would take a HUGE fall for that to happen.
I am not trying to crap on you, I just feel like there are far too many people (not just here) short-changing what Lewiston has right now. Three games against RN, three 1-goal games, including a win. This new coaching staff and new roster is flying right now...

And how about Clarke for Piette, quite a steal. How can that be classified a steal. In the games I saw Clarke was more a detriment to the team than an asset. Piette is having a pretty good year and should play at 20, plus I think they got a pick. Lewy traded a problem child 17 year old for a discount price and to me he doesn't look like he's matured any. Piette's production was declining over time in Lewi and then he and Houle were moved for Hlinka and Carre... two 18 year old forwards that combined are still being outproduced by Clarke, the 17 year old D. Has Clarke had a few bad games... yes but from nthe most part he's been a player that you easily forgot was only 17. Probably in about half of his game he has looked like our best D this year. Piette and a 7th for Clarke is an easy steal for Halifax.

I wouldn't take 3 games against Rouyn during a period where there was plenty of outside shit surrounding their team as a sample size big enough to formulate what the rest of the season should bring Lewy will make the playoffs.. but I seriously doubt they play .500 hockey or anything close to it from here on out

Yeah and he played well against Moncton back in November down here and even got the GWG.... but don't let that stop your petty crusade against a teenager. Huh? "petty crusade against a teenager"? Last time I checked this was a message board and people are here to post opinions, how the fuck is that a crusade. For every time he's scored a GWG he's almost singlehandedly cost his team the game with bonehead/selfish penalities. Well aware that this is a message board, thanks for the reminder, but also remember that other people can respond back as well to your opinion and in my opinion it is folly to base an opinion on just a few games that you have seen a player. Moose fans have seen Clarke warts and all this year and his potential is as a #1-#2 defenceman- there are times this year he has looked like a stud 19 year old and there have been times he has looked like a hothead. Your jabs at him seem a bit childish at timesand even worse, a little CHSBish.

Young with talent and teams shouldn't take them lightly... sounds like Halifax. You'll likely make the playoffs as Bac isn't exactly playing great right now. Halifax will not make the playoffs... that isn't 100% fact but it has pretty much been the foreseen since a 1-18-1 start. Since then Halifax really hasn't been too bad... still not making the playoffs. Lewi's year has been much different and you guys are basically making the playoffs because of your start. You started the year something like 10-8. Since then 7-21-2 so finshing .500 would be some thing great for them to do.

In the next what 19 games even if we win 50% we will not win enough to get Lewiston out of play offs...

Why is he so selfish? Can't he just take his penalties and not worry about the points. What did Don Cherry say about 'becoming ushers'?

IMO these next three games (PEI, RIM, RIM) are crucial to the Mooseheads potentially making the playoffs. If we come out with all 6 points; I like our chances. Would be nice to see some playoff hockey again that's for sure.

To quote Jim Moria "PLAYOFFS U talking about PLAYOFFS, hell we are just trying to figure out what players are returning to add to our rebuild next season, which we hope will lead us into a playoffs 2010/11, where we could go further than a couple of home games. We will leave the playoffs this year to the rest of our division.
