Open question: Where does ISS rate as an assessor of junior hockey talent? How do they compare to Central Scouting or Red Line? Or are they all the same with their own biases?

ISS is ok when it comes to NHL stuff, but they are always way off on their Q rankings. They didnt even have Poulin in their top 10 until recently...

Ya just for curiosity what would the cost be to get another first, and also what could we get from a team who wanted to move up. say we drop to the 6th slot or something, what could we get for that?

Went to the AAA tourament seen Charlottetown, and Cole Harbour. Besides Taylor Burke, Michael Clarke, and B Duke which are all expected to go in the first round. 2 players that really impressed me were Luke Dillman think he went in the 9th to Lewi last year(would trade him for Trey Lewis) if I were GM ofHalifax, and not sure if Jordan Cox is drafted but if not i think he would be a hell of a steal.

Dillman was drafted Lewy but had his rights traded to Bathurst over x-mas.

In regards to the list ISS put out, has it not been said that both Fraser and Marcotte have some question marks about attitude work ethic??
Interesting to see both Frederic Gamelin and Luca Ciampini not make the top 5. I would havent thought one of those guys would have been in that group.
I'm seeing Matheson's name a lot along with Matteau. Whats the scouting report on these two? Seems like they've seen their stock rise in the 2nd half.

This is the only list that I found on the ISS site.
Top QMJHL Prospects
1.Jeremie Fraser - Gatineau 2.Luca Ciampini - Chateauguay 3.Andrew Ryan - ND Hounds 4.Dominic Poulin - St. Francois 5.Frederick Gamelin - Patriots
I know that is only a partial list, but are those the first 5 prospects. Can anyone find a complete list. Thanks.

Dillman is in his 3rd year in the league, he should have jumped up to the junior level, he was ready, but for whatever reason he decided to play Midget AAA for a 3rd season and in my opinion he has regressed. Bathurst wanted to keep him up with them in the 2nd half but he declined. Hes a less skilled Justin Munden, great kid, lots of leadership qualities, but playing a 3rd year in midget hockey is going to hurt him long term. Personally I think Lewis is a far better prospect, its not even close really. Jordan Cox isnt drafted, he is a rookie in Midget but hes already 17...his skating is lacking and he doesnt have enough talent to be a skilled guy in junior, and hes likely too small to play a banging/crashing role...He wont be drafted, likely invited to camp as a Free Agent.

ISS doesnt have Matheson in their top 10...but he is a legit threat to go 1st overall...I honestly dont know what they are watching to rank Hache higher than Matheson. Matteau is actually going to try out for the US National Team Development Program U-18 as he is a dual citizen, so I dont think hes coming Q-route anyway, but from what ive heard hes an all-around offensive threat, good skater as well and doesnt shy away from rough stuff. Liam O'Brien is probably the laziest player ive seen in a while...he has lots of talent though and is a 'prototypical' power forward of sorts, but he moves like molasses out there.

So what do you think O'Brien will do next year... he's a 3rd year midget guy as well, seems to dominate, and has had a few opportunities to stick in the Q but I don't think has had the desire to yet. Think he'll stick around a put up numbers next year? Could he be an asset (not necessarily THE asset) that Russel may see interest in if Bathurst wants to move up from 5th overall in the draft...
