By keeping only Horyl as a OA, CB could add cheap but effective 20 Y.O. for mid round pick. I'm thinking of guys like Delmas and Beaton who could really help them.

I'm almost more excited for next years team than I was for this years.
Here's how I felt for alot of games this year:
"Oh, they're playing XXXX team, this should be an easy win!", followed by "I can't believe they fn lost to XXXX"
or
"Meh, I'm not even going to listen to this game because they have no chance" followed by "WTF? They actually won 10-1"
At least this year, I know the team will be a bottom 4-5 team, so, losses will be expected and wins will be a pleasant surprise.
Anyone else have a similar vibe?

Having exactly 1 proven D for sure and a rookie goaltender is not a recipe for success. I'm fairly confident that the other rebuilding teams will be a lot stronger and experienced on the back end. Since a solid Defense (Goalie and Defencemen) is the key to success, the Eagles will be in tough each and every night next year.
How many proven scorers are even in our top 6 forwards?
Making the playoffs would be a very good achievement next year!
However, if the team just came out and gave 100% for 60 minutes each and every game, I think the fans would support and embrace them.

Given the new playoff format, even if one makes the playoffs and are in the bottom 4 or 5, it will be an extremely tough task given you'd have to face #1-4 overall and you're #13-16

Of course we'll be beat out in 4 straight, but, hey, whats the difference? 4-0, 4-1. It all sucks. haha.

I think that if Mario can let the owners look into his Crystal Ball and convince them that they were only 3 wins from going to the Memorial Cup this year there is a very good chance Mario will resign with the Eagles.
After all, this same group of owners had enough faith in Mario to let him make the decision whether to buy or sell, with 2012 looming in the future.

most people expected Halifax would miss the playoffs this year canbeer CB is returning more than Halifax was this year next year I would expect Victo is definitely missing the playoffs.... than you could see one of several teams miss out... Moncton (depends on who comes back), Rouyn, Baie Comeau (still a year away), even Halifax if they don't add some scoring could be in trouble again And all of the teams you mentioned will be better than CB. care to wager on that?

And all of the teams you mentioned will be better than CB. care to wager on that? Victo will surely see a big fall but they do have a number of young guys producing... I can see them and CB being fairly close. The other teams IMO look a bit ahead of CB. Val D'or looks very bad next year.

Just taking a quick glance at what teams are losing I'd say Val D'or is an early favorite for last.

They are losing big pieces but they have guys like LeBlanc Filiatrault and Archambault that could start coming into their own.
