Good reply Jimmy, who said there was going to be a high return. What was said by Russell was that there are some teams making calls to see or test the value much the same as every trade goes, to quote LaLa connect the dots. GM's talk with other GM's every day...that doesnt mean deals are imminent or about to happen... Its just par for the course...there is a lot of 'tire kicking'...GM's are always out there looking for bargains. I may not be interested in giving up full value for Corbeil, but if I call Russell and kick the tires he may give him to me at a discount...that doesnt mean a deal is about to happen, or will happen.

Another article in the chronicle gives further insight into the fact that trades that are simmering may soon be up to the boiling level.

Quoted from Cam Russell in the Herald article:
"You’re always in touch with the other GMs but sometimes when you’re all together in the same place it can speed things up. We have a bunch of different options this year as far as trade possibilities so it could be a good time to lay some groundwork or maybe move something ahead that we’ve already been talking about."
Sounds like it could go either way, with a flurry of trades or just kicking the tires.

You will probably see 5 or 6 players traded with another 3 or 4 going to Jr 'A' Fred, there will be a few spots for talented players that will move the franchise forward hopefully this coming season.

Well lets start with the 20's thats 3 or 4, now in my opinion we have Costello, McGuigan, Stoddard & Wiggington who will probably go to Jr 'A' and I predict Bernard will be traded and possibly Clarke, now according to my math thats 10 possibles, plus Bahm is moving on. Think about this we will be adding Lewis & Boudreau, plus 5 draft picks, plus an Euro pick, plus a 18/19 yr old scoring forward as well as 20 top line forward, it has to happen I don't see us advancing to mid pack without these moves and I could be understating the total moves that will be made. The last two years we have had to have players who were not truly major junior quality just to fill the 23 player requirement and now the true rebuild hopefully will allow us a chance at a mid pack finish in 2010/11 season.

Another article in the chronicle gives further insight into the fact that trades that are simmering may soon be up to the boiling level. You have a very interesting thought perspective when reading articles in the press. No where did Russell say trades would soon be boiling over or even if they are simmering yet. For all we know, maybe Cam is just drumming up interest in his players via the press. No one should EVER believe a GM when they are discussing ideas leading to a draft. Heck last year Cam was stead fast that he wouldn't pick any players playing any games. He was very strong about this...but then he traded into the first round to grab Andrews...who was playing games. This isn't a slight against Cam, it's what GMs do all the time. They NEVER tip their cap to what they are planning and it's all about misdirection at this point in the season.

You do know the league limit is 3, and we only had one this season, being Bahm? So that starts the count at 1. Costello, Stoddard I agree are done, but I think McGuigan sticks around this year and Wigginton IMO is 50/50. I'll give you Wigginton, so that makes Bahm, Costello, Stoddard and Wigginton, a total of 4. And you think seem to think it's set in stone that both Bernard and Clarke will be traded, but right now that's a complete unknown, but again, I'll give you them, and say they do get traded. So now 4 + 2 doesn't equal 8 or 10, it equals 6. Not only do you need to sharpen up on your reading and comprehension skills, you could stand to use a few math classes while you're at it lol.

OH BOY ! you are a dandy, we have a total of (7) seven 20 yr olds count them along with me KNOTEK, DELMAS AMYOT,DIMITRUK, BETY, GRANT, STODDARD. what I said was that there would be 3 or 4 of these traded, thereby keeping Grant and a d-man and possibly Delmas. Now you had better sharpen up on your reading skills and also your math is lacking both of these inadequacys are now here for all posters to see. Please forward me an apology when it is convenient for you.

Howitzer. I am pretty sure you are being sarcastic or joking about Stoddard being captain. If not you are on drugs.
Stoddard will be lucky to be on a Q team next year let alone captaining one.
