The final list for the upcoming draft is now available on the "Q' site, now let the fun begin as to who will be reporting to camp in August from our picks, of interest there is a forward list 2nd overall where we pick and it is LUCA CIAMPINI, will Russell pick him or do something else also of note is that the 1st, 3rd and 4th overall listed are all D-men.

If BAC takes Matheson id have to imagine Halifax would trade down...I dont see a very big difference with about 5-6 guys after Matheson...
Matheson is on his own level...he has been for the better part of the last 4 months.

It can also be obtained thru the scouting section on the "Q" site, also you can obtained past lists from previous years there as well.

Nice, I've been waiting to see this list. Lala, guys in the first round have been talked about a lot, but what names stand out in the 2nd round? We only have the 1 1st (as of now) but the 2nd round is where the bulk of our picks will come. So who's to watch in that round?
I was looking through the draft positions, and here we are excited (and rightfully so) about having 5 picks in the top 37, and having 2nd overall, but heres Chicoutimi with 5 picks in the top 24!!! In the 1st round alone, they could potentially walk away with the likes of Dominic Poulin, Taylor Burke and Frederick Gamelin. Their fans must just be giddy. They love Jacob Legace and Nicolas Deschamps more now then they ever did haha.

LaLa do I detect that you feel the Moose will not take Ciampini with their 2nd pick also why wouldn't they as we need offensive badly. Has he some hidden problems that wasn picked up by Central Scouting

Has he some hidden problems that wasn picked up by Central Scouting Its not that he has 'hidden problems' but there are other forwards who id rather have...namely Gamelin... Ciampini's skating isnt THAT bad...he just has cement feet and ive noticed that in order to compensate for his lack of foot speed he tends to 'cheat'... Central Scouting always puts too much stock into size and thats why they have Gamelin 11th and Hudon 13th...both of whom are about ten times as skilled as Burke and both of whom will be better QMJHL players than every forward ranked ahead of them...save for Matteau...you can take that to the bank and bring this quote up 2 years from now...which im sure youll do

I dont know who Halifax is high on...and after the first few picks its hard to tell what a team will do...but out of the guys ranked in rounds 2 and 3...guys who I hope the Mooseheads take would be...in no particular order: Jordan Cote - D - Trois-Rivieres -- His physical play comes natural, he loves he rough stuff, a physical specimen...not much in the way of puck skills but he is the kinda guy contenders will always look for at the trade deadline. Alex Dubeau - G - College Esther-Blondin -- One of the quickest goalies ive seen in a while, hes fun to watch, athletic but small. Austyn Hardie - D - College Charles-Lemoyne -- A solid stay-at-home dman, not flashy at all but he is a rock on the back end. Maxime Lagace - G - SSF -- In my opinion he is much better than Hozjan who is also a 1993 and ranked 2 rounds ahead of him. Good size and technical ability...he would be ideal to be groomed along with 1 of Delmas or Corbeil. Raphael Lafontaine - C - Gatineau -- Reminds me of Gabriel Desjardins in some ways...an energetic winger, always invovled in the play and has underrated skill-set. Christophe Lalonde - W - Ste-Eustache -- Same team as Matthew Boudreau, but didnt play with Boudreau. He is one of the more physically fit players in the draft, can be a pest and has good skills. Angelo Micelo - C - Laval-Montreal -- Probably one of the most skilled players in the draft...underrated in my opinion.

I think it's Roy.

I certainly can't see Russell taking two D-man in the 2nd round when its widely accepted that we need forwards with an offensive upside, Lala I just see this happening in this years draft, personally I don't see them picking a D-man within the first 3 rounds, I see 4 forwards and a goalie. I also see that Legace had an unbelievable 1.67 goals against in 22 games more unbelievable is where he is ranked also he and Auger won the goaltending award for the AAA Midget League, both played 22 regular season games, I'm not sure about the playoffs .

Nicholas Dionne has 65 pts with something like 43 goals has great size and while being a 16 yr old is in the middle of the 2nd round, whats your take on him Lala, I think he won the Pierre Turgeon Award.

If Halifax passes on Matheson at #2 they are going to regret this almost instantly...The only way I see Halifax taking 4 forwards and a goalie with their first 5 picks is if Matheson is taken #1...otherwise they will probably take 3 f, 1 d (Matheson) and 1 goalie. I find a lot of defensemen ranked in rounds 2 and 3 quite intriguing, more so than the forwards that will be available. Ideally Halifax takes Matheson at #2...and a kid like Angelo Miceli at #19...he has first round talent but he isnt as well rounded offensively as a guy like Gamelin or Hudon...who are both slightly smaller than Miceli but also more talented. If Halifax can somehow get Lagace in round 2 id say thats a very good draft already...and they would have 2 picks left in the top 37 to take 2 more forwards more than likely. Lagace will be picked before a lot of the goalies ranked ahead of him. Two goalies ranked in round 1 (Tremblay and Brennan) and 6 goalies are ranked in round 2 (Bibeau, Dubeau, Hozjan, Auger, Clavet and Whitney). I will bet Lagace is picked before at least 5 of those goalies...likely Brennan, Hozjan, Auger, Whitney and Clavet. Lagace had a wonderful regular season, posting an 18-3 record, with a 1.86 gaa and a .930 save %...he hit a speed bump in playoffs after his team was upset in round 1... He has the perfect size for a goalie in my opinion, 6'01 160...he moves well, has good hands, he is pretty good down low and he is positionally sound...he is ready to play right away where as some of those other kids are less polished and have large question marks.
