Nicholas Dionne has 65 pts with something like 43 goals has great size and while being a 16 yr old is in the middle of the 2nd round, whats your take on him Lala, I think he won the Pierre Turgeon Award. He had 65 points like you said...but not 43 goals...he had 23 goals and 42 assists... He is a good player...very good all-around on offense but lacks foot speed which should hurt his draft status. In my opinion...taking him a 37 would be good...anything earlier and I wouldnt be thrilled.

Nice, I've been waiting to see this list. Lala, guys in the first round have been talked about a lot, but what names stand out in the 2nd round? We only have the 1 1st (as of now) but the 2nd round is where the bulk of our picks will come. So who's to watch in that round? I was looking through the draft positions, and here we are excited (and rightfully so) about having 5 picks in the top 37, and having 2nd overall, but heres Chicoutimi with 5 picks in the top 24!!! In the 1st round alone, they could potentially walk away with the likes of Dominic Poulin, Taylor Burke and Frederick Gamelin. Their fans must just be giddy. They love Jacob Legace and Nicolas Deschamps more now then they ever did haha. I was looking at that myself and if Lala is right and about going down if Matheson isn't there maybe tarde down with Chi for there 6TH and maybe 22nd then they could grab two of the top Dmen because thats a big need for them.

Lala, would you be able to pinpoint which players in top 2/3 rounds are looking/thinking about NCAA?

Lala, would you be able to pinpoint which players in top 2/3 rounds are looking/thinking about NCAA? Some guys always play games but that doesnt mean they are goign NCAA. Some players want to play in the Q...just for certain teams, or teams that will provide them with more education money. Guys who I know are going NCAA, or at least commited are... Matteau - He is going to play for the USNTDP U18 Biega - Going to Salisbury than probably Harvard Ashley - Commited to U of Maine, but i heard he has a deal with Saint John Zielonka - Going to Salisbury with Biega

Is he following his brother south? His reason for not attending the CSR was that he wasnt interested. I dont normally read much into that as the players have to foot the bill themselves (air fare)

What's the scouting report on Darcy high hockey IQ … excellent at protecting the puck … sniper … terrific set of offensive skills … very accurate, hard shot … true competitor … great work ethic … a leader on the ice despite his age … good vision … good skater

I've noticed an improvement since last year when he was with Cornwall. I like to base a player's skating ability on good, great or excellent. So yes, I would consider him on my lowest extreme. A bad skater....well, that would be me. ;D

Does Ashley have NHL potential, is a he a 4 year CHLer, or both? I'm sure he'll be NHL drafted but as a later round selection. He's not eligible until 2011. There's also the chance he could be completely passed over. I can see him getting the same treatment as Micheal Kirkpatrick. Undrafted, but receives NHL free agent invites after his 19 & 20 year old season.

Ashley - Commited to U of Maine, but i heard he has a deal with Saint John Funny how much their stance has changed on the NCAA bluff afrer the Esposito thing in year 1. Now they are the worst team in the Q for playing these games. Look at the quality players they got last year alone who should have been taken higher (Durepos, Huberdeau). If they now have a deal with Ashley to get him to bail on Maine, thats a blow to the other teams who won't have that talent available to them. Wonder if Russell has spoken to Ashley at all... at least we have one of his buddies on the team already.
