Hi everyone. I just found out some sad news. Fred passed away yesterday. He was found at his computer, probably posting something about his beloved Mooseheads. RIP Fred, you will be missed.

Condolences to Fred's friends and family. Although some argued with Fred's comments from time to time, none would argue about his devotion to the Mooseheads. He will be missed at the Metro Centre and on this board.

Wow ... that is shocking and sad news ... very dedicated Moose fan that has been around these boards for as long as we have had these boards. He'll be missed. RIP Fred.

Although you could argue with some of his views, you could never argue with his dedication and encouragement of his beloved Mooseheads.
I had the chance of talking to him at a game during the 06 playoffs and he was a true fan who wore the green and red proudly.
Very sad news.
RIP Fred, you will be missed.

As noted by SteveUL on the Cape Breton board this was Fred's last post on Saturday evening: "Another Forward Q league goalie with a wonderful year in professional and world champoinships..Glad Russians lost... "
It is very revealing of the true Fed The Moose - acknowledging the success of another team's player after leaving the Q and the mis-typing of "former" with "Forward".
Also earlier on Saturday Fred posted this message on the Moncton board re Kevin Rickard's passing: "I know personally how hard it is to keep up spirits and enjoy your teams when your health falses But Keven was a real winner and loved his Wildcats as much As I love my Mooseheads always enjoyed my e-mails back and forth to him and our visits at usually Moncton rink most times I would be able to get there with boosters..Best wishes to his wife and family and all the Wildcats fans too...The Wildcats did get him his PRESIDENT CUP "
Very touching and somewhat prophetic.

It's very sad that we have lost two members this past week or so. Two guys who have fought much harder than most of us combined so far in life. They were dedicated to their teams despite their health issues and it's truly inspiring. When Kevin passed away I was saddened for multiple reasons and one being because he and Fred never got to meet but Fred was planning on it. Well Great to see your back to games and the Wildcats are playing super hockey too ..I am also glad your doing better too..Will see you in fall as I will be there this winter many times.. Fred The Moose... They will now be able to not only meet but discuss hockey together forever. R.I.P

I am glad I took the time to introduce myself to Fred at a game this past year. He truly loved the Moose and this board. He made a point of saying how much he enjoyed the contests we run. A true gentlemen.
