With the Draft only a week away I thought I would begin a thread. We have 11 picks as of today. I honestly don't know what to expect this draft day. I know we need to bring in some young players to help for 2012 but that seems a little far fetched with the picks we have. 3 50 CAP < CHI < QUE 4 61 CAP < GAT 4 63 CAP < SHA 4 66 CAP < ROU < CAP 6 99 CAP < SHA 6 102 CAP 8 138 CAP 9 145 CAP < HAL 9 156 CAP < BAC < CAP 11 192 CAP 12 210 CAP

I think you are getting a 2nd back when Bellvance-Roy goes to Lewiston, but I'm not sure if it's 2010 or 2011.

Eagles gonna be going after any local talent?
Kyle Farrell rookie lead the NSMMHL is scoring! really small tho but really good also tied for the Cape Breton Bantam AAA league in scoring with a player from Cape Breton West named Jesse MacInnis who is one of the better sized of his 4 also a good player had a injury plagued season season with the islanders this year!
16 year old players there is Colin Campbell and Brock Morrison Farrell's line mates this year with the tradesmen! they finshed 2nd and 3rd in the scoring race! I think any of them 4 players would be good pickups!
Got this info of the CSR list.
Kyle Farrell 5'6 150lbs Jesse MacInnis 5'11 185lbs Colin Campbell 5' 09 1/2 162lbs Brock Morrison 5' 10 1/2 161lbs

Yes we are and were getting a 1st back for Meilluer but I think that that's 2011 or 2012. I do think they will look into drafting local talent. I honestly don't care where the player is from as long as he can play at this level. We've had some great success with young local talent here in the past few years.

Unfortunately the last few years, a lot of the Eagle draft picks that they were so high on, have disappeared too quickly in trades!
I've heard a rumor that Farrell could be gone fairly early to a team with multiple 2nd round picks, but it's only a rumor at this stage. Not that many 15 year old's have won the Midget AAA scoring race that I can remember.

Eagles have traded away their first round picks from '05 (Brannon, won a championship elsewhere), '06 (Barberio, also won a championship elsewhere), and '07 (Finn). And then didn't have a first rounder in '09 (traded for Luke Adam) even though by that point, bidding for the 2012 Memorial Cup was surely on the organization's radar...... and a first-round pick from 09 would in theory be at the very least a contributing 18-year-old in 2012!

It would be great if Lagace didn't sign and we were able to trade him for a high pick and a player but if he plays in the league next year I'm pretty sure we have to pay another 1st to the Sags.

I agree it'd be great if he came back as a 20 so that we can recover some of the value that we paid to get him but why trade him now? Seems to me we get almost double what Mario's expecting right now if we wait until the January deadline and then we also get 20-25 games of what could be a top overager in the league. I guess it would also depend on who the younger player was.
