For all the talk about the C200 ice, the Eagles over the past 5-6 years have for the most part been excellent at home - one of the toughest teams in the league to beat in their own rink.
The only exception was last year, and that had little to do with ice - it was because we had a team with very average character.

Nail on head - the tradition of an Ontario free agent surprise or two per year seemed to leave town with Pascal. And Montreal has picked up where CB left off... Provost, Parkes...and Montreal signed a kid named Junior Harris who played for Villanova Jr A...he is quite good. yet not good enough to play for them apparently as he was traded to Rouyn today....

Something like this, only with a 20 thrown in:
FORWARDS MacDougall (20) /Horyl (20) /Hertzberg (19) Dion (19) /Cuzner (18) /Shaw (18) MacIntosh (18) /Bergeron (18) /Plouffe (18) Jodoin (17) /Parker (17)/W. Carrier (16) A. Carrier (17) /Farrell (16)/ Grenier (17)
DEFENSE Ellis (18) /Hrabrenka (18) Woodworth (17) / Fournier (19) Larade (18) / Herrett (18) Engert (17) / Leduc (16)
GOALIES Verroneau (17) / Lacerte (19)
Leduc looks tall and lanky. Needs to put on some weight. He's only 16, so, he should grow into his body soon.

It is most definitly a Line Up filled with Building Blocks and Cornerstones...................which are which .........I am not sure ! I just hope this Verroneau kid doesn't get ruined during The Mad Scientist's Experiment !

Just wondering so I know what to expect and see when I head to the forum on sunday. Side not how does the top pick Luduec I think his name is look? Leduc for sure has potential, but right now he's more of a "project" than a guy who's going to make an impact right away. He's a good skater and seems to have good hockey sense, but needs to fill out big-time. Needs to add a good 30+ lbs onto that 6'5" frame. The most noticeable guy in our camp so far has been Vincent Boudreau-Plouffe. Lots of flash and dash, reads the ice quite well, great skating - especially lateral movement. He's been dominant among the rookies - will be interesting to see how he looks as part of a full veteran lineup, which I'm sure the Eagles will ice for one or both of the games this weekend.

They need some size and enforcement... lacking in the line up right now. And Leduc seems to have some puck sense, good first pass, sees the ice ok, but his skating is far from Q ready. He runs rather than skates. I think Verroneau will surprise this year

Mullet said in Todays Herald that Harbrenka will fly into Sydney tonight and will play against Pee eye tommorow ! In Todays Post he stated that he will be cutting one forward and one defenceman this week . Any guesses ?.................would he put Leduc back in Midget ? or can the skating issue better be dealt with here ? Larade ? Bergeron ? lots of opinions on this one !

I think a 5th for Metcalfe is way too much. If he was a guy that could run the PP than sure but why pay so much for a guy who had little to no chance of sticking with Moncton? Wasn't Metcalfe claimed from waivers last year?
Mario must be allergic to 5th rounders. Bernard, Bourgeous, and now Metcalfe. And I thought we should be adding picks instead of pissing them away. You think 1 of those consultants he hired would have talked him out of it.
And if it was the toughness we needed why not keep Millman. Millman is 17 and from what PEI posters wrote, he got the better of Wordan.

Let it go man.....ruins your posts seeing childish insults like that....you're better then it and have more then enough ammo to use when commenting on the guy and how you might not like what he's doing.

A 5th IS too much, I agree, but it's also replaceable.....Mario could get a 5th just throw in on any veteran he might be selling at Xmas and then he gets Metcalfe for free in his mind. Personally I would of paid a 3rd or 4th for one of Moncton's forwards and got some bang for my buck but either way we're getting a 1yr player.....I don't think it's a huge deal, especially if Metcalfe provides toughness and another top 4 D.

I also would have rathered a 20yo forward or Mario could have just waited a couple weeks and Metcalfe probably would be on waivers. Can't see many other teams that would have room for him as a 20.
