I think the Eagles have a chance because they hosted the 2008 QMJHL draft and it was a good sucess with it they have some good players in the NHL like Marc-Andre Fleury, Adam Pardy, and James Sheppard and they are putting 13 new luxary sky boxes and putting more seats in Centre 200.

I would like your chances alot better if you sold last year I don't see you having a strong enough team to host.

How good the team will be is a major factor, as well as how much money the event will make, travel in and out of the city, hotels, the arena and venue's to host media and awards night, etc.

I do not think that having a few ex players playing in the NHL has anything to do with us hosting the Memorial Cup. As was mentioned already the biggest hurdle for us is the on ice product. Unfortunately our fearless leader thought we should "buy, and make a run" last season. If we had of sold last year, like we should have done, then I would agree we would have a great chance to host. But we will not have a competitive enough team by 2012. That is one of the deciding factors when they pick the host.

Having two years to build a team is not a problem when you know for sure that you are hosting the memorial cup. But in all fairness I don't see it going to Halifax or Saint John before Cape Breton.

For example, Saint John can choose to trade Kirkpatrick & Despres ... Compare that to ? for CB.

Having 2 years to build a team is a huge problem when you just stopped buying for no clear reason. Sure, Saint John went for it this year, but look at how they've drafted/recruited and managed their assets.....there's no comparison. And Shawinigan, arguably the favorite, are stocking up on top picks and assets already. The Q governors basically came out and said at the draft that it's a 2 horse race. It's Saint John or Shawinigan for 2012.

Shawinigan will get it. They've been around too many years to be passed over for Saint John. The Puppies time will come, but not 2012.

Membertou Trade and Convention Centre, Joan Harris Cruise Pavilion, Victoria Park, I think there are a couple more but just can't think of em right now.

I don't remember this, but I also wasn't paying really close attention on draft day.

I think Shawinigan gets it. I certainly hope Saint John gets it somehow, but I'd be very surprised if anyone other than Shawinigan does.

I think it is between Cape Breton and Saint John because Cape Breton holds big events like in 2008 they hosted the draft a few months ago they hosted the ECMA they had big concerts like a few years ago nickleback came last year sean kingston came they would be excellent to host the Memorial cup and with renovations going on in Centre 200.Saint John is a big city and harbour station is a good arena.last year they came 1st place in the league with a excellent team and they will be good to host the Memorial cup.
