From what we have read, it's Pascal Rheume job if he wants it. Doesn't sound like he wants it that bad as he has been putting off Mario for over a month now. If he does turn down the job. It will have to be a quick process to get somebody in town before camp!

I hate to do this but I heard a rumor that Mario has gone to plan B now. I haven't heard any name, not even any initials but Mario could be waiting on a decision now by a 2nd individual.
The C200 renovations and the ongoing search for an assistant coach seem almost symbolic of "Eagles" hockey right now - "kind of a mess"!

Sorry guys, if my meaning was confusing. I also read in the Post that everything is on schedule although they are waiting for private box seats to arrive.
I just meant that while the work is still going on; that the main concourse, the private boxes, the former press box area and 1 or 2 dressing rooms are kind of an understandable mess. Hopefully, everything stays on schedule and hopefully it isn't too tight a schedule.
The somewhat drawn out wait for an assistant coach, just about 3 weeks before camp isn't as easy to understand.

Well it's not that complicated. They gave choice #1 his time to make up his mind and it sounds like he said no. Now they move on with the process. There is no rush that I can see. It's not like Durocher is alone back there right now.

What process ?? According to the CB Post they contacted McKenzie and Batheson to get their interest which was favorable then the post contacted Mario who informed them that he had a prospect in mind and if that didn't work out he would go to a selection process, his 1st choice doesn't look like it worked and the two people who expressed an interest in the job were never contacted and now they both have re-signed contracts with their current employers ( St F X and Bedford Minor Hockey) for the 2010/11 season.

Finally getting a new team bus, after a 2 year wait, shouldn't have been that complicated either Jack!
According to the Post choice #1 had a week to make up his mind, way back when. That week became 2 or 3 weeks, it seems. What exactly was this process? Were there applications and interviews and an interview committee or was it much less formal? Does anybody know?
I was hoping for some strong input from a new assistant coach to help turn things around. That could begin right now before training camp. I know Durocher is not alone back there but that group, if the others have any say, didn't seem to recognize or be concerned about the on ice and off ice problems last year.

It's not the teams fault local laws wouldn't let them bring the bus into the province(at least thats what I recall an issue being) You're out to lunch if you think an assistant is going to come in and upset the way things are here with the other coaches and how they work.

So other then the guy Mario wanted and the 2 guys who expressed interest you think there's nobody else in this country able to be an assistant on a Q team? I didn't realize coaching decisions had to come from the CB Post before Mario knew who wanted the job....I don't like the job he's done as much as anyone but give the man a little bit more credit then that. You'd swear it was the head coaching job some of you are expecting to be filled.
