and right on cue, MacKinnon shoves Orr off the puck and makes a nice play to pick up an assist.

Not sure why Roy is playing him at center, he is a trainwreck in his own end. One shift in the 1st he gave up the puck twice and lost a couple more puck battles. They have Duchesne Stasntny and O'reilly taht can play center, would be easy to play MacKinnon on the wing for a year at lesat, maybe 2. He, and his line, haven`t been very effective this game so far... he is playing much more tentative than he did in the first two games. He is playing center because he is projected as an elite center lol, and its what he is. Trainwreck is pretty harsh considering he was one of the better forwards in his first two games and Roy even trusts him on the PK. His line has played a pretty flat game so far though. So is Galchenyuk and Montreal plays him on the wing to take off some responsibilities. Allows him a bigger offensive role without the defensive coverage a center ends up with, especially on the road.

Habs are not the standard on how to manage your assets lol. If this score holds, Avs are 3-0 with 3 goals against and MacKinnon has 4 assists in 3 games playing on the third line. Doesn`t seem like a horrible decision so far.

Well probably his worst game of the three, but a nice pick-pocket and setup for the winning goal. As you said CJD, 4 points in 3 games on the 3rd line isn't bad. A few giveaways last night, but I know he'll learn from them.
Next up is Brad Marchand and the Bruins Thursday night.

I wonder if he follows in the footsteps of Lemieux and Crosby and gets his first NHL goal against the Bruins.

Goal # 1. Congrats to MacKinnon.
And just to show I'm not that biased about his arch rival, here's Seth Jones's 1st NHL goal:

Also got an assist tonight. Now playing second unit power play as well as killing penalties.

MacKinnon has hit a lull with no points in 5 games. To be expected sometimes for a rookie to have to adjust to the strains of more travel and more games packed in to fewer days. Hope he picks it up again soon.

^^Not bad at all. Also, couldn't have done it against a better team. I watched the game Saturday night. He was invisible the first two periods but I thought he had a great 3rd period.

9 Shots on goal for MacKinnon last night. 1 assist in a 2-1 loss to Carolina. Is seeing some more regular PP time as well. Seems like he's playing better. Hopefully he'll be rewarded with some points.

Last night he was rewarded with second line duty. He may have been the best player on the ice for the Avs. He was flying.

Goal # 3. Looks a lot like Goal # 1.
Most ice time of any Colorado forward last night.

Yeah beauty goal there. Sounds like he is playing better and better, being a noticeable player, every game.
