The original Star Wars trilogy and the Indiana Jones movies are my guilty pleasure favorites. I can pretty much recite the Star Wars movies as they play. Two other movies that rank near the top for me: American History X I don't like a lot of Ed Norton movies, but he was awesome in this. Black Hawk Down Blood Diamond was very good too. I am looking forward to seeing Lone Survivor. Same here. The fact that it's mentioned in the same sentence as Saving Private Ryan speaks volumes for me. Another movie that's coming out that is similar is American Sniper. Both are on my to watch list.

Enjoyed Blood Diamond, Braveheart, Dances with Wolves, Contraband, Training Day and my favorite of all time........... Saving Private Ryan. That's another movie I totally forgot about while making my list. Probably a top 5 movie for me. I don't think I've ever seen a Denzel Washington movie that I didn't like.

Ethan Hawke was the only bad part of that movie. Man he's weak... no big shock he hasn't been in anything significant since. Anchorman 2 was good by the way for anyone thinking of seeing it. It's a bit ridiculous in parts, but you probably expect that after seeing the first one. It also steals a skit from Austin Powers which was a tad cheesy, but overall it's good. I think most of the people in the theater had the satire go right over their head, because there were a lot of funny scenes that very few laughed at. Oh well, I enjoyed it.

the best movie I ever watched was from years ago, called "Beyond the Law" with Charlie Sheen.....I hate watching movies twice, but I've watched this one probably 10 times over the years....my next favorite to that one is "BlackHawk Down"....watched "12 Years a Slave" last night, and that was a great movie also. .........if you guys liked Blackhawk Down, I watched another this week that was just as good...have a look at "Lone Survivor"..awesome movie........... very hard to pick a top 10, as we usually watch about 6 or 7 a week here....evening ritual.

I only saw Black Hawk Down out of your list but I was not a big fan of BlackHawk down. Not enough character development. Then again it may be me being extremely picky because to be honest I was not a big fan of the Hurt Locker either.

Pulp Fiction Resevoir Dogs True Romance Inglorious Basterds ( Anything directed by Quentin Tarantino if you catch my drift ) Full Metal Jacket James Bond Casino Royale ( Although missing many aspects that make it a Bond movie -- ( Q and gadgets , MoneyPenny ) LOTR Trilogy Star Wars Trilogy 4, 5 and 6 not those shitty prequels Indianna Jones Trilogy GodFather 1 and 2 Goodfellas
Not God level but I gotta mention:
Seven Psychopaths ( So different I loved it ) And In Bruges
That is more then 10 but it had to be done.

Not to sound like a movie snob, but I'd agree with him about the lack of character development. It was just 1 big long battle and I really didn't know who anyone was most of the time. That being said, I like a lot of his list but always thought Inglorious Basterds was a bit over-rated for the lack of character depth as well, at least as it relates to the Basterds themselves as individuals. The main Nazi and the 2 women, especially the Jewish one, were good characters but the actual Basterds were pretty much all 1 character with very little individuality. I still enjoyed the movie, and I'm certainly not saying it wasn't a good movie. If a lot of people liked it (and they did) then who am I to say that it wasn't a good movie? I just found that I didn't seem to like it as much as most people.
