they are just not having luck with quebec based teams Has nothing to do with luck, the other two divisions are stronger. Maritime division is weak but somebody has to get those points.

I don't think you guys are giving nearly enough credit to shawinigan. That was a hard-working,well-coached, gritty, big team with excellent team-work and support for each other on the ice that came in and spanked the cats collective asses-and I can't believe that I used disciplined and Shawinigan in the same sentence either. Yes Dubeau let in 2(maybe 3)that he ~should~ have had,but that doesn't take away from the fact that the right team won the game. Our guys did work hard, but they were spinning their wheels against a relentless opponent. This is a great game to learn from and show the boys what can be accomplished with teamwork, communication on the ice and support for each other. From what I saw last night, whoever gets a W from that Cataractes deserves it and paid for it with a bunch of bruises. They will be a tough team to face in a best of 7 IMO Shawinigan looked good...but when you're a team with a core of 19-20 year olds and a team comes in and beats you with 16 and 17 year olds(Shaw's most skilled guys ae 16-17...Girard Yan Beauvillier Phelan etc) it looks bad,...even worse in your rink. Shaw is very talented but also very young.

The rich get richer...Rimouski added Beaudoin from Drum, one of the 2-3 top d-men in the Q.
Beaudoin-Morin-Kostalek-Nasybulin-Bourque stacked defense 1-5

They were my picks since last season to win it all this year. Strong team and very talented. The scariest past if they're still young...

But... you also have DeLuca , Simon Bourque , Michael Joly, Nasybulin , Tyler Boland , Samuel Laberge, McSween , Picco and Beauchemin all coming back. Some of those guys are second tier players but will be strong next season. DeLuca is my pick for the scoring race next season. Joly will light things up with him. Obviously they will have holes next season but still have a good nucleus coming back.

I heard some chatter that there's a possibility Lalonde is done for the year.
If so that's a huge blow to the Cats..

If you are their front office, this is your year to go all in...so some of those returnees may get moved, either at midseason or at the draft.

How many of those games were played while missing Lalonde and Tkachev ? We aren't nearly as tough to beat right now with those two guys out of the lineup.

I'm no medical expert at all and I'm not sure I even quite remember what Lalonde's injury was at this point. Broken ankle, correct? If that hasn't healed properly than perhaps you're looking at re-breaking it? If so you probably won't see him play again until February at the very earliest, if at all.
This is all just speculation as I really have no idea what's going on with Lalonde. However, if they know he's done, here's a thought based on what's gone on today...do you take a chance on Cameron Darcy? Doubt they would give him up for cheap within the division, but if they would?

Even if Lalonde returns...if they are considering "going for it" he would be a huge upgrade on Tassi and whoever plays #2 C. In the big picture I don't think the defense will hold up even if you add a Darcy though...
