I know Luke is supposed to be a top 5 - 10 pick and seemed to really impress for NS recently but his brother (Matt) seemed to do pretty well himself and seems to be somewhere in the second to third round range right? I assume they would prefer to play for the same team since they are twins but I wonder whether they will try to force the team drafting on to draft the other as well albeit later.

One thing is for sure, this will be a proving year for Cam and Dom. Cam will have to show he's capable of making deals for the future that hurt the team in the short-term, which isn't something he's really had to do the last few years. He's made his fair share of deals, but most were to improve the team. It can be a different dynamic trading away assets for the future good. Dom will have a mid-pack team on paper, and no Drouin's or MacKinnon's to play big minutes when the game is on the line. Ehlers is obviously a superstar in his own right, but he doesn't control the game like our dynamic duo did. That being said, Cam has had to make tough decisions with player personnel in the past (losing Gillard for MacAulay and going with Duke over Lewis) and Dom has done pretty well with a depleted lineup due to injuries and WJHC's, so I have faith. But they will definitely be on trial by all the skeptics. Agree. It will be interesting to see how Dom handles a team that offers much less than the previous 3 years. He will be missing solid leadership that he has had in the likes Ashley, Andrews, Weegar, Lewis, Critchlow, MacKinnon, Albertshauser, Fournier, MacAulay, Gillard, Cuzner, even Drouin was beginning to show some leadership in the playoffs. Going into next year will be interesting to see who will step up. Your right on Dom's ability to get the most (over-achieve)in all 3 years, he will have this team playing hard, and smart, all the time, which will probably be enough for 9th or 10th. I have heard some pie-in-the-sky predictions of a top 5 team, ain't gonna happen. I don't know if I would call them tough decisions, ship out Gillard (20) for another (20) who is a great kid, leader, and from the community. I was ok with that one. As for Lewis, purely driven by medical situation. Duke also great kid, probably more skilled then Lewis and also local boy. I think it was tough personally, but logistically a no-brainer. Trading Fucale will be, as you say, a true test to see if he can eat the short term pain for the benefit of the future. Almost forgot, Falkenham is rumoured as a possible captain.

With all the talk about rebuilds, not rebuilding, trading or not trading, etc.......GM's lie...all of them. that is the one certainty that we know right now.

Yes - they are absolutely a package deal.
