With all due respect Darcy is not even remotely close to what Drouin was last year.... but yes if he returns you obviously keep him and deal someone else I mean he is to CB what Drouin was the Halifax last year. They are both game changers and really season changers. Look I've made it clear I feel CB is the front runner here in this division but you add Darcey then you start to talk about them as contenders in the league. Basically like Druion with Halifax last year. They probably would have won this Division but no one would have thought they'd come 2 goals away from making the league final again.

What exactly is the scenario in which Darcy would be returning ? If he doesn't crack the AHL line up is there still east coast league possibilities?

Yes but then the team and player have to weigh the benefits of playing junior and having the Eagles pay him for the year and develop rather then the Lightnings ECHL affiliate. For someone just drafted it makes more sense to play junior for the year then have the NHL team make a decision on him for the future at that point.

Bringing in brassard is the only move i didn't overly like by dumont. I know dumont did not think darcy had much of a chance of returning, but if he does, he has decisions to make. A 19 year old goalie must have been way to expensive. If we plan on contending again next year, i really think screw the 3rd for legare, get a goalie who can be here for this and next year. If darcy does not return, i would like to see murphy as a target on d. I was told by a few long time season ticket holders that this team has potential to be one of the most exciting to watch since oilers days, and thats a refreshing thing for sure.

You might get more then a 3rd rounder but your not going to get a goalie that can be a number one for him. Just won't happen. You guys have quiet a bit of draft picks to maybe go get something. I beleave you have two 1st and maybe two 2nds and if you get a 3rd for Legare then you would have at lest 2 of those too. Plus you can have 3 2nds if you drop O'Leary. So you guys are better off getting what you can them maybe flipping it for Legare.

As of now, we have 3 first round picks, 2 second round picks and 2 thirds, and if O Leary does not report and goes back into the draft, we get another late first or early second round pick. Lots of options there.

That was what I mentioned a few posts ago. I mentioned keeping all 3 guns ( if Darcy comes back ) and going for a 19 year old goalie.

The only down side to keeping the 3 forward is your now taking playing time from a player that could benefit and help you next year. If getting a good 19yo goalie is a want maybe grabbing a 20yo Dmen wouldn't hurt too. If Darcy comes back that is. I know I just said you would take playing time away from another but someone like Hardie with leader ship and a boat load of experience wouldn't hurt your D crop. Plus I don't think he would cost you an arm and a leg.

Too bad Eagles did not get a 19yo Eric brassard Quebec only paid a 3rd for him, I am sure if Eagles were willing to pay a 2nd round pick Islanders would have let him go

Enough about last nights game and our defensive shortcoming(ouch), when is Dumont going to appoint a captain and assistant captains for this team It looks like Darcy might be the only one left with a chance to be returned.Lots of candidates there.

Pretty sure hes waiting on the final decision with Darcy, would be embarrassing to name a captain / assistant and have to trade them away to make room for Darcy.
