Decent game tonight. Once again I liked Martineau with Legare, they seem to have a bit of chemistry. After Martineaus play tonight, I can't see him being cut. When he loses the puck he is extremely determined to get it back, plays his heart out every minute. Dillon Boucher was also a present surprise tonight. Plays physical and had a few goals, I feel like he had a case for himself with his play tonight. Not really impressed by the play of Tower tonight once again.

Pretty good game tonight, once again Martineau impressed with two goals. Thought Dubois played well also last night, skated very well. Colby Tower scored a goal but still did not impress much, same with Dillon Boucher. Good heavy weight tilt in the first period between Stephen Sisco and Emmanuel Proulx. Fairly even tilt until the end when Sisco landed one right on the button and buckled his knees. In the absence of Mason Gray, this kid seems to be making a bid for the tough guys roll. Once again young Beaudon looked pretty solid on defence. Nobody really stood out in goal, new guy Lavalle played half the game for Black, pretty hard to tell based on one look.

SIsco didn't look so tough when Brunelle wanted to drop the gloves with him? Sure he's a good fighter in an intersquad game but we all saw what happened when an established tough guy challenged him. I don't know how Boucher didn't impress you much. He flattened Lalonde and 4 seconds later got a goal. He was all over the ice, looked to be afraid of nothing.

We play you guys in exhibition action tonight and while I am mostly going for my first chance to get a look at some of the new faces on this year's SJ team, I can't help but hope to see a scrap or five as some fights tend to be common in the pre-season.
My question is who, if anyone, do you guys think might be likely to drop the gloves from your team? Like do you have any guys that are on the fence 50-50 shots at making your roster that might decide to drop the gloves in hopes of showing the coaches they can stick up for themselves and their teammates, and that extra dimension to their game might be enough to get them a spot?
Looking at the post above mine by Eaglefan62, sounds like Sisco and Proulx might be 2 names to watch, assuming they are still around and are on the roster for you guys tonight.

Francis Brunelle (if he's playing) Lee Dower Stephen Sisco Emmanuel Proulx Pierre-Luc Dubois doesn't seem to shy away from the tough stuff, but don't expect him to drop the gloves. Phelix Martineau put up some PIMs in MAAA last season, he seems to be playing good, maybe a fight could earn him a spot. Matt Paul may also drop them. Those are just guesses more than anything.

Just incase, because usually people are interested in fights....
Says Bent on the Q site but Bent didnt play. Dempsey vs Lee Dower - Dempsey filled him in. Dove McFalls vs Paul- Dove Mcfalls gets the only shots in and lands on Paul
Kenny vs Bonaparte was even. Bonaparte did land on top though

Martineau was the best player at both intrasquad games.

Dower, Proulx, Dubois and Jacob Smith were the only guys playing hard in my opinion . Goalies wernt that great. Ronohan had a bad game. Beaudin was - 6 but seemed to play decent. Corbeil fanned on a lot

First round of cuts: -Michael Lyle '95 -Alex Miron '96 -Alex Bonaparte '97 -Alex MacDonald '97 -Lee Dower '96 -Evan Millman '97 -Parker Ronohan '97 -Nick Walsh '95 -Matthew O'Rielly '97 -Colby Muise '98
Lyle might surprise some but it's not totally shocking. Hard to believe he was once praised as "the best '95 in Nova Scotia" (Nathan MacKinnon is a '95 from Nova Scotia)

Just a couple of surprises here. I thought Lee Dower was making a seriuos bid to make it on the back end.Looks like Dumont is going with the 16 or 17 year olds for the last two spots on the blueline. Also I thought Colby Muise was making strides in gthe battle for the backup goaltenders spot, looks like they want him to develop more for the coming seasons.Backup battle is now between Lavalle and Sullivan.
