Wow, have to say I have seen some bad games over the years but think it was the 1st time I almost fell asleep, yeah I know it was Moncton but give them credit they played their game and won...... and I only had 3 beers...... Season openers not a great thing for the moose last few years..... And great start to ScotiaBank Centre..... yes improvements are over next couple of years but expected more for some reason..... couldn't even buy a program tonight but that is more the mooseheads fault..... time for bed really tired for some reason..... groan...........

Moncton was missing 3 top 6 forwards and our #2 dman (Johnston) ... so both teams will improve significantly with players returning.

Yes, both teams were missing their main offensive weapons, but I wonder had Fucale played (not saying Resop played poorly) if this game would have gone to a shootout after a 0-0 tie.

Not a great start, Moncton controlled the play most of the night; Dubeau seems to have our number in home openers thank goodness he's gone next year. Moose had some good chances just couldn't get anything to go in; just not our night first game at home very sloppy probably some nerves. Resop was very good, made some good saves but they could also help themselves staying out of the penalty box.

Honestly, I think Moncton still wins with Fucale on the ice. Resop had no chance on the second goal, he may have been able to control the rebound on the first but, really, Resop was easily our best player all night. He made some saves that kept this game from being more out of hand. Moncton's powerplay was much better last night, and that was the difference. I gotta make a comment about Connor Garland, this kid is kind of an asshole. The whole warm-up whenever Riox was in net he would just skate by and pick rebounds off him and shovel them in, and then he shot a puck off the back of his leg. Then when Will Smith scored his goal he said something to him and then took over at the front of the line and gave a big obnoxious scream and a fist pump as if his second assist was gods gift to hockey. Kind of seems like he's a shitty teammate.

Mr Over-rated has never been a difference maker in any game I have seen.

Uhg. What a frustrating night. No flow. Taylor Ford's parents were sitting behind me... The Ford family's 3 boys really made my night, the 2 toddlers and the one on the ice. Brutal. Taylor Fords parents were nowhere near you - you many want to check your facts before you post. This board is for opinions about the players and the game - players families should be off limits. You are clearly not a very knowledgeable and obviously disrespectful - I could go on but you are not worth the time of day.

Obviously I am worth the time of day or you wouldn't have posted anything. Look, I'm not even saying anything about his family other than the small children screaming in my ear all night were annoying as hell and by the time I came home my head hurt and I was in a foul mood. As for Taylor, he was really, really bad in the first period and his ice time went way down as a result. Every time the puck came near him he either just whiffed on the puck completely, randomly fell over or just had the puck stripped from him with relative ease. He's better than that, maybe he was nervous, but he was brutal. He seemed better in the second and third, but that first earned him a demotion to the 6 slot. The only one who actually posted anything that was a direct attack is you ironically...

No disrespect but there is a reason you are not a coach. Perhaps playing in front of a crowd of 9k people was new to a lot of these players - factor in nerves, factor in first home opener, playing in front of friends and family ... I guess you're perfect!! I have to disagree with the direct attack, you insulted who you thought were Fords brothers calling them "Brutal" - I read these boards all the time and this is the first time I've ever seen a players family (assumed family) be insulted. Comments should be kept team/player related.

They sucked even when we had MacKinnon and Drouin ffs lol. Too much bs and distractions, and it's all multiplied for the rookies. Most guys played like rookies last night. There will be lots of nights like that, so get use to it.

I was attempting to say the night as a whole was brutal, not that their family was brutal. I'll edit it out. As for quiet time, there's a difference between quiet time and the shrill voice of bored 5 year old in your ear the entire night shouting babbling nonsense completely unrelated to the game while his parents occasionally yell at him to sit down. Noise adds to the atmosphere, but that's like saying a loud blaring chalkboard noise would be fine at a rock concert because it's not supposed to be a quiet place.

Noise adds to the atmosphere, but that's like saying a loud blaring chalkboard noise would be fine at a rock concert because it's not supposed to be a quiet place. That's a topic that comes up quite often when I'm at a game with a bunch of people and we have to sit up in the upper bowl. When kids are constantly screaming at the top of their lungs, it is friggin annoying. You'll more than likely leave with a headache. The problem is, there's no rule against it, so I don't bother ever fighting it. Just imagine what most parents would do if you "asked them politely" to ask their kids to stop screaming. The resulting argument isn't worth my time. The parents that let their kids scream at the top of their lungs for 2 1/2 hours straight won't be the type that will oblige your request. If I'm unlucky enough to get a seat in front of kids that are screaming, unfortunately the only thing I can do is move to the nose bleeds and get away from them. If the game is sold out, I just have to live with it. A preventative measure would be to get tickets well in advance so that you're less likely to be sitting amoungst the casual fans that buy their tickets at the last minute. Parents know that you usually can't plan around kids that much. It's usually a last minute decision to take your 8 year old and his/her 5 friends to the game, meaning their seats will be higher in the upper bowl. Option B: Have you and your 5 friends bring air horns to the game. Every time the kids scream, blow the horns. When the usher tells you to stop, tell him/her you'll stop when the kids stop.
