Strange... McQuaid isn't playing tonight and there was no mention of an injury. He may have been suspended ... he got a misconduct late in the game for some sort of interaction with the fans ... but I didn't see what he did. Still not in today...

Maybe it's McQuaid instead of Moody since we need a defenseman now.

If the deal is being salvaged by throwing in a mediocre 18 year old defenceman...wow.

Hodge reporting that Shannon has a few more deals in the works that will be focused on making us better this year ... but won't sell the farm to empty the cupboards.
I'm thinking he fills that empty Euro slot with an 18 YO. Makes no sense to go into next year to fill two euro slots with late picks.

There's not a ton of Candidates for tradeable 18yo euros. Only ones I see are Lazarev, EHlers , and Liamkin. Out of thise 3 I'd put Liamkin as the most likely but still not highly probable.

CB would be sitting on a high Euro pick if they decided to retool instead of trying to add to get out of the basement ... they won't be able to use that pick without moving Lazarev at some point. Also ... we could add a 19 YO and bring him back as a 20 if you could be guaranteed he'd be available.

Karabacek would be a great add from Gatineau as an 18yo if Gatineau decided to sell..but we all know how well that worked out for Charlottetown

They needed to add top 6 help beforemoving those 2. ...but Yeah, Sweeney has been a stud on defense this year, playing huge minutes in all situations.

Liamkin is out injured, likely for the rest of the year. One other Euro that may be available is Zykov in B-C.

I found today’s article to be kind of confusing more than anything. They’re not going to take a step back this season but might be trading their best defenceman for an injured defenceman and an average 18 year old forward? Huh? I know the PR wheels are obviously spinning in these articles, but there has to be more going on than what we’re hearing…right?
Interested to see what they might do about the Euro situation. Not much available in terms of 18 year olds. I don’t think Gatineau or CB are going to sell. Even if CB did trade Lazarev I can’t imagine they would want to trade him in the division so the Cats would have to pay extra. Same kind of thing with Ehlers except even more and I have a feeling Halifax isn’t going to move him anyway.
If you’re looking at 19 YO’s then Zykov is an option although he likely won’t be back next season and he’s been injured a lot this season. Golovkovs could be a fit. If they just wanted to add a Euro forward for cheap I’m sure Mandat from VDO could be had, but would that even be worth it?
