Or what Hollywood? I am a fan allowed to have opinion allowed to have a view Yes, but once you resort to name calling, your opinion means little.

Or what Hollywood? I am a fan allowed to have opinion allowed to have a view You are allowed to have an opinion ... just like everybody else is. Everybody is also allowed to disagree with your opinions ... and everybody elses. Stop being a whiney bitch ... stop the name calling and insults ... just stick to the discussion. If you don't like people disagreeing with you ... post something that is right.

Garland now tied with Mitch Marner for the CHL scoring lead at 98 points. 17 points away from the Cats single season record, which has stood since 1997-98.
So selfish.

Garland is 4 assists away of tying Philippe Dupuis' franchise record of 76 in a season back in 05-06.
So Selfish!!! ??

Just trying to imagine the bigtimefan's outrage if Garland wins MVP this year. Might need the new rink sooner rather than later, based on his level of frustration on this board I could see bigtimefan burning the Coliseum down if Garland is recognized with any awards or praise by the league. Sent from my SGH-I337M using proboards

You have to take Garland for what he is, he won't put anybody through the boards or be your best defensive player, but he has ridiculous hockey sense and puck skills. Against the lower half of the Q, he ad Barbashev can almost win a game by themselves. It's against the top 5-6 teams who have more depth and better shutdown players where the team is vulnerable if they get the right matchups, like the Que-BBA-Rim road trip...strong teams + home ice matchups. That's where other lines really need to be there and step up.
I think fans have a right to be at least a bit concerned wit the shift length for #22 and #8 plus the minutes logged by #4. It's a long season, more a marathon than a sprint, so those minutes can catch up to you late season and playoffs...maybe it won't but there is a definite risk, if nothing else, against weaker teams, Rumble should try and cu.t their ice time.
In terms of Garland being selfish, that one is downright comical and I have a chuckle every time, Garland might be the best playmaker in Cats history(can't think of any better off the top of my head) so saying he is too selfish is beyond ridiculous. If he holds on to the puck it's usually to buy time for teammates to get open. Early in his career I was concerned with hi size and the amounts of hits he takes, but he's been very resilient and durable, adding 10-15lbs this off season really helped him. He still get knocked down a lot, but for a small player, that's a sign that he actually goes in the dirty areas. Tkachev early this year when he was floating hardly ever got knocked down because he'd always be 10 feet from puck battles and avoiding hits.

Just throwing this stat out there but Garland currently has 33 pts in 17 games against the top 6 teams in the Q. Actually above his PPG production

If anything, and this as well as shift length are about the only things I can say against him, Garland doesn't shoot the puck enough. Many times he'll create a shooting lane and still look to dish off. The good far outweighs the bad, though. Probably the most dynamic offensive player the team has ever had as well as one of the most exciting to watch. And as for shift length, that can be dealt with by the coaching staff if they so desire.

Hasn't anyone thought the extra time Garland plays is intentional in order to help him win the scoring championship and so encourahe Scouts to take a more serious look at him. The extra minutes are good for his career, and good for the team as he obviously has the endurance to play at a top level for longer than most players. Good on Garland and good on Rumble

One other knock on Garland is he has recently been taking more retaliation and unsportsmanlike penalties. He is getting targeted by opponents for obvious reasons and they are trying to get him to react ... and it is working. He has to keep his cool. He also has to stop complaining to Refs every time he gets hit or impeded. Last night he got an unsportsmanlike call from the same Refs that worked the game in BC where he got a misconduct. They are obviously tiring of his antics after the whistle.

Good on Garland and good on Rumble He isn't getting any extra ice time than he did in November. He just takes long shifts and always has this year. I don't think it has anything to do with a scoring title. However, you may see him get extra time as we go forward to win the title. He can't really handle much more ... but you might see him get late PP time in a lopsided game where normally we'd take our top unit off of the PP. At the same time, you have to expect that he and Barbashev will sit more in lopsided games to rest them ... and protect them from head hunters.
