I kind wish we took a gamble on Matt Sartoris. Sherbrooke just acquired him for a 4th rounder. He's been a big disappointment in Gatineau where he went 12th overall in 2014. He's a 17 year old , 6"6' defenceman that plays with an edge. Not to mention he's also a local kid, Being 6'6" and 17 is tough. Your bones grow too fast and the muscles and coordination take a while to catch up. Most teams don't have the ability nor patience to wait for the kid to reach his potential.

The thing with Sartoris is, he was 6'6" and good in midget at 15...then has not really improved the last 2 years, not so much a growth spurt. The pace of the game has picked up the last few years so it's harder for big guys to keep up, only the most quick/agile can... www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=196035

If you're gonna talk about BMDs junior A numbers then have a real look rather than his handful of games this fall: MJAHL 2013/14/Rookie of the year; backstopped Canada East to a 4th place finish last December in thr World Junior A Hockey Challenge; was named First Team all star goaltender in the MJAHL last spring. Dealt in QMJHL training camp to a team with 11 or so other goalies in camp, last goalie cut. And you say his Jr A numbers are poor lol. Yes I'm a big BMD fan. He never got a real shot here in SJ but I always felt if someone could look past his size and give him a chance he might surprise. Happy to see he's getting that shot in Moncton and had made a case to stay.

And as I said, you choosing to only look at his handful of games this fall is extremely short sighted. I'm somewhat surprised you are clutching those numbers so tightly. If you really wish to stick with a small sample of numbers, then it shoukd also be obvious - BMDs Q numbers are far superior to Galloway's. The difference is probably not as great as the numbers suggest but that doesn't matter for this discussion, right?

Klebanskyj traded to Shawinigan for a 2016 6th rounder. Starting to look like we want to trade all the french kids. Who s next Sweeney or Corson ? Aren't all 3 English names?

For Galloway , this likely means he's headed to Jr.A Or he'll be back up and Blade man goes back to Jr.a. I guess Roger Shannon reads these boards ...

Shannon mentioned in the T&T today the Cats are still talking with some teams.
Not sure if this was mentioned anywhere, but it sounds like Chicoutimi will be hanging on to Bilia. It will be interesting to see if Montembeault goes anywhere in the next couple days. He's really the only 19 YO goalie of note available with Bilia and McDonald off the table.

Chicoutimi is willing to trade Billia but being a 2 year player the price will be steep.

Joey Richard to the Cats for a 5th in 2017. Why??? 4th line depth I suppose ... but assuming everyone is healthy, it will look like this ... Garland-Askew-Weiderer Klima-Klima-Karabacek Smith-Bower-Johnson Murphy-MacEwen-Richard Cormier-Corson

Joey Richard to the Cats for a 5th in 2017. Decent player but a really weird fit. He's a finisher with good size but not the best skater or very physical. He probably bumps Murphy down. He isn't really a good fit on a checking line.

He isn't really a good fit on a checking line. As I see it, Karabacek probably already bumped Murphy to the 4th line, assuming Karabacek will play with the Klimas. Richard just joins him there.
