Loose translation - From the horses mouth, QMJHL scouts in Halifax (at Ice Jam) asked "Got a bomb tomorrow, Roger?" His response "Nope." I guess that means the rumours of Chad Krys to Moncton were false. But I don't know what time today the playoff roster freeze goes into effect. So, time will tell.

I think it would be next year if he does. Hard to give up the U18s when you spend 2 years in the program to leave just before the big payoff for being in the program.

There is no "playoff roster freeze". We own the rights to Krys and he can join us in the playoffs if he wants to. The only freeze is you can't add players to your protected list after a certain date (very soon). Krys is already on the protected list.

If Krys stays in the U.S. program and gets drafted under that program in June then he is AHL eligible at 19, maybe 18 for that matter which wouldn't really make sense from a development standpoint I suppose, while if he came to the Q and got drafted he gives that up. Projecting out he is probably one of those tweeners at 19, not experienced enough to play regular minutes at 19 in the NHL but too good to be playing major junior at 19 so AHL is probably best but again that depends upon his development the next two years. Add that on top of what you said and if he comes it is next year but he is BU committed and they have had some issues lately.

On the topic of the roster freeze, which I believe is today, I've heard the Wildcats have added Moncton Flyers goalie Xavier Cormier to their protected list.

I think a player either has to have a playing card(part of 25 man roster) or AF card on February 10th to be able to play. The roster deadline today is to sign players to your list(50 players) and cut down to 25 roster players.

Obviously it could mean nothing but Krys has not played for the U18 team in their last 2 games. It could be rest for him but just for interest sake I looked up the CHL players from their team and they all played January 8th or 9th, depending on their teams schedule. The U18 team probably was willing to give him more time off but it's interesting.
