Much better signing .... dare say it might be the first reasonably big name free agent Bergevin has signed for appropriate term and AAV No cap space left now but some easy fat can be trimmed before season starts or buried in minors to be compliant Still think he way overpaid on Anderson but excited to see this new look team on ice I'd go as far to say that the Toffoli contract is one of the better UFA deals anyone has signed over the last few off-seasons in terms of the money and term being reasonable. Anderson's issue is the term coming off the injury but he should easily live up to it for the first half of the contract.

Yeah agree on that. i was expecting Toffoli around 5.5-6M on a 4-5 year deal based on recent UFA then maybe take 10% off due to current economics...5-5.5 instead. If he can maintain his 22-27G that's great value...his 6 full season totals...23 31 16(63GP) 24 13 and 24(68 GP). I like years 1-4 on Anderson, 5-7 scare me a bit. If Anderson's shoulder issue(after surgery) is behind him, he will bring great value, big strong, fast guy who can play the skill or power game.

Barring any more moves(I expect a couple more minor ones) here is the Habs cap compliant roster:
Gallagher-Danault-Tatar Anderson-Suzuki-Drouin Armia-JKK-Toffoli Byron-Evans-Lehkonen
Weber-Chiarot Edmundson-Petry Romanov-Kulak
Mete-Juulsen
Price-Allen
This puts them 58k under the cap. I would not be surprised if they move out a player(Kulak Byron Weal? maybe even Tatar if they don't plan on signing him) and replace him with a cheaper UFA
Weal-AHL

Bo Horvath , JT Miller and Elias Petterson ad Quinn Hughes on the Back End .....unfortunately the Habs can't match that ......hopefully he clicks with someone .

The habs have a better team than Vancouver whom half the roster is bad contracts(Myers Eriksson Sutter Bagel Roussel Ferland). They have no Price or Petry-Weber. Habs are also deeper up front. take the puckbunny glasses off.

Up and down off season continues now dregervreporting Gallagher might be on the trade block.... contract negotiations not going well this guy is heart and soul and has been their most productive goal scorer for years.... not sure I like this
He goes on to suggest Vancouver would be a team very interested in bringing Gally home.... if they were to trade him trading him west would make sense.... what would a return look like?

Hughes and Petterson are, Horvat and Miller have been in his prime a few years. Boeser also. Markstrom is gone. Edler is on his last legs. They have a core of good young players, but it's quite small, outside of that is mostly older guys and overpaid grinders. Unless Holtby bounces back or Demko has a break out, they could take a step back without Markstrom.

I should let this go I know I should But I can’t stand idiotic comments being passed off as fact Brock boeser is 23 and has played what 3-4 years.... how the flying fuck do you get off saying he’s in his prime for several years? Horvat is 25 Miller 27 They are just entering their prime years in all likelihood Then you bring up 30 plus year old comparisons in price Petry and Weber to try and discredit The only factual fucking comment in your post is that they have a lot of terrible contracts from poor free agent signings Stay in your damn lane

You can take this one Hal I can’t be bothered
Good luck
Now I don’t see any of the young guns being likely candidates to be dealt in a Gallagher to Vancouver trade .... and I’m not very familiar with their ahl prospects.... Adam Gaudette maybe be a starting point??? I honestly don’t know.... maybe Boeser ... any Nuck fans on here?

I am not hearing any Rumours of Gallagher wanting an 8 year deal at top dollar.......it sounds like Bergevin wants/expects a Home Town Discount from him ......Radulov wasn't that long ago .

Vancouver has some good young players, but not a ton of depth, like LV Edm and Cal they looked better than they were in a weak division, the weakest in hockey with the 3 of the 5 worst records in the NHL.
