It's wayyy too early to make those calls. Guys like Tkachuk are useful but you need good centers to win. The Habs were able to trade for a better PF in Anderson. Tkachuk is 5 years younger with much more upside than Anderson and less injury history. I have a feeling this post is going to be bookmarked for a long time. The injury history usually comes from playing that style. Unless Tkachuk starts playing a perimiter game and avoiding contact he will get his share of injuries. I'm not sure about the "much more upside" part, Anderson is a much better skater, and excellent defensively. Tkachuk has offensive skill but most of his goals are banging in rebounds and deflections, I don't see huge upside there. He is not a guy to carry the puck or beat anybody with speed or slick moves, his game is within 15-20 feet of the net.

Throwing everything at the net for 14 goals is not a huge success. He's 1st in shots but not in the 1st 40 in goals but he is super skilled? Try harder.

You can't say he's wrong so you just double down with 2 insults to counter his truth. What truth? Shooting from everywhere and leading the NHL in shots doesn't make you a sniper. It makes you a garbage goal guy, which is what Tkachuk is. Not that there is anything wrong with that, Gallagher does the same, Tkachuk is a good player, but he is what he is, there isn't a huge amount of untapped potential. Some guys come in and have big upside and take 4-5 years to get there, others arrive as pretty close to a finished product. Tkachuk is the latter and Kotkaniemi is the prior. I'm no JKK fanboy, I don't pretend he should be playing 20 minutes a game, but he is a guy that has growth left, being a younger player in the draft and more raw at that time. I think JKK will potentially match Tkachuk's goals and have more assists, be able to play a 2 way game at a more premium position. Right now Tkachuk is the better player, but it's still early.

Ottawa is on a roll now they've moved up to 28th overall and they have won their last 2 games, for some reason they seem to have Montreal's number this year and then beat Calgary last night. Will be interesting our next 4 games are against Vancouver.

They simply are a well coached team that plays hard and if they get goaltending they are in every game

With 6 games left and the Sens on a roll they may just actually sneak into the playoffs...They leaped over Vancouver last night!
Likely wishful thinking but maybe just maybe it will be like the run we had with Hamburger a few years ago, here's what they have left for 2020-21!
Sat at Montreal they've had Montreal's number this year and with Price Out the Habs don't scare me as much because Price can steal games on his own Mon vs Winnipeg (2-1 Win) Wed vs Montreal(5-1 Win) Sat @ Winnipeg Sun @ Calgary and finish the season at home vs the Leafs!

They are 9 points out. They're not sneaking into anything. Vancouver has played 7 (!!) less games.

they arent making the playoffs but they might wind up not last in the division which would be a miracle given how everyone put them down coming into the year
they have a very bright future ahead
