The leader of Moncton's marching protest was in a full blown nazi suit.
Just sayin'

If you look past the incidents of hate and the leaders (who were speaking on behalf of the convoy as late as Saturday afternoon) then what I see is still a group fueled by politics and not mandates.
Not 1 NDP or Liberal politician standing with them. Multiple Conservatives and even now we see a drunk local Senator speaking his own radical mind.
There is clearly a majority of right wingers (not even fair to CPC to call them all “conservatives” thanks to the King’s and Lich’s involved) who are taking part in these rallies. But its also extremists if you see the guns on Coutts or the unwillingness to leave Ottawa.
Can anyone explain how after 20+ days its even still a protest? People actually thought Trudeau should meet with them lol as they hold an MOU to try and overthrow our government.
Ordinary Canadians were the people in Ottawa unable to function for 3 weeks. Ordinary Canadians are the 90% fully vaccinated. Ordinary truckers made sure we knew this is not a reflection of their industry.
We all clearly have very different definitions or ordinary.

The leader of Moncton's marching protest was in a full blown nazi suit. Just sayin' Our “rallies” attract the same types. All anti-government conspiracy theorists well before covid who are almost energized by every poece of data they just throw out as worthless. Rallying to literally kill off more of our population, essentially. If these people ran Canada we would have 10-15x the death rate from the start of the pandemic because these people are also fighting against science if you take the time to listen to them.

They funny thing is that these people think they are speaking for the majority of Canadians. What a joke. Some seem to have forgot there was an election since Covid hit. 99% of their claims are simply answered by this being a democracy where not everyone gets their own way. Go protest inflation and cost of living hikes. Protesting anything around mandates is falling on deaf ears as doctors will mostly determine that stuff which is why so many conservative politicians are rushing to end mandates because they see an “in” to score political points as this winds down and death rates show we as a country have actually done pretty well.

You think the protestors get tested? I'm sure many of them do have covid not surprising at all that there isn't some tremendous increase in cases tho since you have to be tested to count lol i'm so sick of all this shit...... what a divisive country we have allowed ourselves to become... it's shameful really This stuff has been in the US 5-6 years and in Europe nearly as long, it's the first really vivid display we have seen in Canada. I'm not surprised that these people exist, just stunning how they think they are the majority.

The NDP has given no indication they won't support it. Singh has been the only one making any sense these last 3 weeks in my view and he's absolutely not getting in the way of anything breaking up this fringe right wingers wet dream. We can agree to disagree on how they utilized the emergency act. And agree to agree that our police have handled themselves exactly how we expect our police to function. They are clearly executing a well thought out and thorough plan and doing it with patience, and even a bit of class and grace. Evan Solomon from CTV has been incredible giving the protestors a voice and asking fair questions without passing any judgement on any of their views. I honestly think the "nothing" we seen for the last 10-14 days action wise was starting preparations for this police action. This wasn't something throw together overnight. This is well organized and thought out it would appear. I'd love to hear what the protestors view would be if the double vaccinated all showed up to counter their protest and they become an extreme minority in the crowd vs the only voice. Those echo chambers are how these people start to view themselves as a majority and its scary for the future of our democracy as fringe groups demand extreme measures. With the additional protests going on in Quebec, Toronto and other cities in Canada I think you cannot say it's just the fringe right wingers. For that many people across Canada to take to the streets and protest there must be more going on then just a few hard core right wingers. Even in Ottawa you saw people of all walks of life. Sure, there may have been some fringe right wing groups trying to hyjack the protest, but most people there are to protest the governments mandates. There is always going to be a large silent majority, but that doesn't mean that they don't oppose the governments handling of the pandemic, currently an endemic. And keep hammering the lie that it was a protest of the unvaccinated. It never was a protest of the unvaccinated. The majority of the protesters are dubble vaxed and boostered. They just don't agree with the yellow stars that the government wants to stick on the unvaxed. Now, you are going to say that that is out of line, but nobody believed Hitler was going to kill that many Jews in the early '30 when he started singling out groups. That's why you have to be so careful with what the government wants to impose with the Emergency Act and vaccine passports. Trudeau already knows he has lost this battle but is too proud to admit defeat, cause that will mean political suicide. If it wasn't a right wing radical protest, why did they go to Ottawa and not Halifax, Fredericton or Toronto? Oh, right, those are PC premiers who put in those mandates. If it was just about mandates, they would have never gone to Ottawa since vaccine and mask mandates are a provincial jurisdiction. I don't think they are ALL far right but they are definitely led by far right leaders and money, much of it from the US. I think this was a test run for what they are planning in the US in March. They then got some gullible Facebook folks to jump in thinking they were supporting "truckers" or "freedom" which it was never really about. How has Trudeau lost this battle? He let them have their say and once they clearly showed their true colors and the public was clearly tired of them he took steps to move them out. He had the backing of parliament and 64% of Canadians polled.

They funny thing is that these people think they are speaking for the majority of Canadians. What a joke. Facebook will do that to folks. it's the same as Trump supports in the US storming the Capitol and thinking the election was stolen. Zuckerberg created algorithms where you only get to see opinions you agree with...then you start thinking everybody agrees with you.

Zuckerberg also refuses to speak with governments about fake profiles with 99% politically driven content meant to further those echo chambers. We all see how Facebook's "sponsored" ads work in relation to your internet history. Now imagine someone gone down that extreme right wing path and the "sponsored" content they must be seeing. It's absolute insanity and if nothing is done we're marching towards a more monitored internet because we're absolutely abusing the open nature of what we have now.

Tamara Lich denied bail.
This is big as many assumed she'd get out on $5K bail and allowed to return home under conditions but the judge basically used her recent history to prove there's zero reason to believe she abides by any agreed upon conditions.
Yet again actions have consequences for these idiots.

He had the backing of parliament and 64% of Canadians polled. The only reason it passed parliament is because the NDP sided with the Liberals. Not necessarily because they agree with invoking the Act, but mostly because it became a vote of confidence. If the NDP would have voted against it the government would have fallen and that doesn't benefit the NDP. Right now they have the Liberals by the balls so they can push through a few of their wishes. Smart politics, but it has nothing to do with agreeing with the Emergency Act. There are actually a few Liberals that are against the Act but voted for because it wasn't worth blowing up the government.

There are actually a few Liberals that are against the Act but voted for because it wasn't worth blowing up the government. The NDP is getting some perks out of it. Singh is very involved in certain items...like you said its just smart politics. But it doesnt seem to be making any impact with voters. This PM has been ripe for the picking for what is going to be a 3rd election cycle. And seems as out of touch as ever. The CPC seems divided in terms of whether to go full bore MCGA (Make Canada Great Again) or come back to the center and try to pick off the former Liberals begging for change but not if its disguised like Scheer or O'Toole appeared to be. And the NDP is out there in no mans land not making many gains but not losing any of their own support either. It will be curious to see how polls look in say 10 weeks or so when this is all behind us and covid mandates are mostly wiped out. Almost seems like Trudeau is going to have the chance to really do something to try and change the conversation if he doesn't manage to screw something else up between now and then.

Gotta love the Conservative MP's speaking up for the single mothers claiming to have their bank accounts frozen yet are nameless and random twitter accounts. Fake social media content can't be driving conversations on Parliament Hill. There's more than enough real things those idiots are collectively not taking care of to be losing time discussing fake news driven by bots and international influence.
