if the script was flipped would you trade 8th overall for Anderson + Edmundson? Genuinely curious. Keep in mind Ottawa traded 7th overall for Alex Debrincat in a weaker draft year then this year, and Debrincat > Anderson + Edmundson... the chance to get an elite player is possible at 8. While an argument can be made for one or both guys to fetch 1st rounders, I'd say it's late 1st rounders at best... Anderson is also 29, he's going to probably drop off the closer he gets to the end of his contract. I just can't see a realistic trade where he + Edmundson is worth a top 10 pick... Edmundson is a guy you could maybe get a late 1st from a contender at a deadline but it didn't happen this past season so maybe the ask was too high. In a normal situation, Debrincat would have cost like 3 1st rounders, but his QO being 9M pushed down his value. Edmundston wasn't healthy at the TDL so they either had to take 50-60 cents on the dollar or wait until the off season or next TDL to move him. ok sure but Anderson + Edmundson is about 9M in cap as well...and to a contender 9M for a Debrincat is better than 9M for Anderson + Edmundson imo. Montreal is better off just moving both guys this year for what they can get for them. But in the end like I said I highly doubt a top 10 pick is involved. If I'm Montreal I'd be happy to get late 1sts for either guy and just sign similar guys in FA that better fit the cycle.

For about a month now you've had multiple people either imply or outright say that you're commenting on things and your comments clearly show you're not watching much. You constantly comeback with these childish insults. But not once have you said anyone was wrong. Keep telling us how poorly Bertuzzi played while anyone who watched Boston play after he was traded there just laughs at how wrong that is. The least objective person trying to push his "cap hell" contracts onto others as if they're dependable playoff warriors while he admits he's commenting on a pending UFA he didn't even watch is pretty hilarious. Unless a GM is an idiot, he will look at his career as a whole and not a week long playoff series when negotiating contracts. Bertuzzi is an average sized player who usually puts up 20 goals and around 45 points, he is agitating but not what you would call a power forward. If you pay him based on a shrt sample size where he playing for a contract you will usually get burned. Comparing him to Anderson who is 6'3" 225lbs is beyond ridiculous, the only thing they have in common is they play wing. Bertuzzi is a multi year pro with 2 20+ and 1 30+ goal seasons. He has more production than Anderson point wise in 120 less games. And you're saying signing him to a comparable contract is doing so based on a week long series. 2 inches and 20 lbs smaller but more consistent and younger and projected at a lower aav. As UFA meaning zero cost to acquire. But yeah....beyond ridiculous.

He has 8 goals in 43 playoff games. Is that production worth his contract? You don't sign guys just based on goals andassists. I agree and like I said, I think Anderson is a good player and would make teams better. I’d want him on my team if I was a GM. The problem is when you’re in a cap world, you can’t really afford to pay 5.5 million for intangibles… at some point, you need to produce as well. That’s why I think there is a disconnect with Josh Anderson the player and Josh Anderson the contract. Unfortunately now, every player is directly tied to their contract.

I don't believe this rumour even exists let alone understand why several people felt the need to comment on it lol
sounds like an Eklund rumour to me

well the final is set and we will get a new Stanley cup champion that has never hoisted the cup before. It's been a wild season overall and I'm hoping Florida can continue their crazy run and win it.

David Pagnotta @thefourthperiod The Flyers are also working in a trade involving goalie Carter Hart. It’s not at the finish line, like the Provorov deal, but Philly is actively on it, as @adimarco25 has also reported.

Vegas looks unstoppable right now all it takes is one game and momentum goes the other way. Game 3 will be huge. And there is so much time between games. June 8 and 10 then 13th(Tuesday) 16th (Friday) and if it goes there to a 7th the 19th (it's 14 days from game 2). Especially when thinking about how hot goaltending has driven these games. That's a long time to wait if it's not a sweep. And everyone knows how the Boston series looked over after 4 games.

seems like Philly will be tearing it down completely to do a proper rebuild, they've been good and bad on and off for like 10 years now. They'll likely be a candidate for the bottom 3 of the standings next season.

They'll likely be a candidate for the bottom 3 of the standings next season. It's a bit surprising Hart would be on the move, at 24 he is just entering the prime years for a goalie. I guess it helps them finish bottom 3 as a top goalie might skew the numbers.
