Leafs acquire Conor Timmins from Arizona for Curtis Douglas.
A low-risk trade for Dubas with some potential for upside. The kids been hammered by injuries and it’s soon time to establish himself as an NHLer or he probably never does. At one point he had upside but who knows how much injuries and lack of playing have impacted that.
Wouldn’t expect much but it’s a young RHS body who can play some NHL minutes with all the injuries and maybe he establishes himself as a cheap option for the club.

Bonk's Mullet @bonksmullet · 11h Turns out the secret to Matt Murray's success was simply having the refs disallow every goal that gets past him

How about Mitch Marner? 18 game point streak. Playing amazing 2 way hockey.
Entering December 15-5-5 without Reilly, Brodie, and Muzzin and riding with 1 if not 2 Marlie goaltenders for huge stretches of that is pretty incredible.

So the details here is the team was scheduled to leave after midnight est (technically the 27th) but left 90 minutes early.
Why schedule a game on the 27th if the teams can't fly in on the evening of the 26th? It's winter in North America and these are pro athletes. This seems silly to me. If the team sat on a runway for an extra 90 minutes there would have been no fine. This seems like a poorly constructed rule and there didnt appear to be any malicious intent in the team trying to leave at 10:30pm vs 12:05am.
But why let the players gather and be ready to fly ahead of time if the spirit of the rule is to give them the 26th with their families?

I suspect the spirit of the rule is to give players the 26th with their families and not to schedule a flight at 12:05 am on the 27th. Unless there was a problem with weather or something, there is no reason they couldn’t make a short flight like that in the morning. If weather was an issue, then the team should appea and the NHL should show some common sense.

They should only schedule short trips the week before and after the holidays as well. Montreal finished the 23rd in Dallas and played the 28th in TB. They play in Florida every year after Christmas.
