Honestly, if they wanted a closer look at him, I think they should have called him up a month ago, or maybe even mid-season. My understanding is that as of next season, he needs to clear waivers before being sent down - so it is decision time for the Habs as to whether Primeau is in the plans going forward. The timing of this is odd ... isn't Laval in the middle of a playoff fight? Odd time to call up their starting goalie. And with only a handful of games left in the Habs season, are you really going to base a long term decision on how he looks (good or bad) in a handful of starts down the stretch?

They called him up with Allen out about 6-8 weeks ago but he was just coming back from an injury so they likely didn't want to throw him out there. Right now he is their highest upside option in nets, they should give him next year in the NHL to see if he will be an NHL goalie and trade one of the other two depending on value.

I think it's strong that Hughes will go after Dubois this off season.... A $6,000,000 qualifying offer is required to retain the RFA rights of Pierre-Luc Dubois. www.capfriendly.com/players/pierre-luc-duboisIs he a $6m player?

For me the highest upside option they have in nets is Dobes but he’s really not being hyped or talked about a lot.

Gally has looked good since his return.
I understand that this is always a topic of discussion, but I feel Gally and the Habs would benefit if they "load management" his games played

I read an interesting article yesterday where the Habs could really put the screws to the Jets if they and Dubois were so inclined ... if they were to sign Dubois to a one year offer sheet, Jets would get 1st and 3rd if they didn't match ... but if they did match, they lose the ability to trade Dubois for a calendar year, walking him right to UFA.

There are a lot of moving parts to the Dubois situation. Do they want to wait for him to be UFA? how much would that cost $$$ wise? For Wpg, I think they are moving him this summer unless he signs an extension, then the ball is in Dubois/agent's court if they are willing to talk long term deal. If Dubois really JUST wants to play in Mtl, he can make it so and Wpg can't do anything other than trade him as a rental. I would be shocked if he didn't have any other locations he would be willing to go.
